fyi, you can just beat the ultimate job bosses and call it a day... they are really tough as well, and very enjoyable to beat.

You also don't "have" to beat the final, final boss, as there is a boss rush just before him that fleshes out the entire story for you and how it's connected... the final boss is just... there to piss you off basically

P.S: 44tiger, did you catch who Red Eye was?

Yea the final boss was a ridiculous rise in difficulty compared to any other boss.

I didn’t catch the red eye lore but I just googled it and wow!!!

Yeah, I had theories about what red eye was, but when I read that last journal entry my jaw dropped.

I actually really enjoyed the story of octopath, it actually has pretty good individual stories, and they all connected very dark souls like (had to look deeper into everything and item descriptions)

Good luck the hidden jobs are very hard fights, but the rewards once you figure out how to use the new jobs... Make your feel god-like against the other chapter 4 bosses, which was amazing (because the chapter 4 bosses for the most part were mostly very evil SOBs, and it felt amazing destroying them)

**SPOILERS'ISH - Picture of final boss (doesn't really give anything away though)**

This was how "safe" I was when I finished him off... he didn't stand a chance, I pretty much kept him on his toes the entire fight

The explanation point and the arrow pointing away is perfect dodge: all of my characters had 9 perfect dodges and 5 light augmentations.

Alfyn still had 4 turns left on my jam spam as well. man that fight was a bitch

First game I’m playing on switch. I’m 10 hours in and really enjoying it. Really like the art.

I feel like I’m having to heal a lot. Idk if I’m playing wrong or that’s intended lol.

I’m now 70 hours in and man I’m enjoying this game. I find myself just grinding battles for hours.

The battle system is addicting and it probably took me the first 30-40 hours to figure out the ideal gear load outs for each character and also to even realize that the shrines exist for secondary jobs. I was done with chapter 2 for everyone before I had to discovered a single shrine.

I’m on chapter 4 for every character now and have finished a couple. Stories are well written, only complaint I have, and it’s me nitpicking, is that dialogue cutscenes last way to long in some stories. I also am not a fan of the amount of side quests and how little info the game gives you. I know a lot of people don’t like when games give you a waypoint for everything, but the dialogue is so heavy I skip a few lines relatively often.

It's a great game. I've never been a big fan of turn based combat, but this game was really fun. I love the retro look. The characters and their individual stories are great and I enjoyed all the "jobs". I still haven't attempted the final boss even though I'm leveled up enough to beat him easily. I need to just sit down and beat him so I can start over.
