I'm trying to download a game, Darksiders 1 since I know you're interested, and the PS4 is telling me I don't have enough space to download but I do. The game is 6.7GB and I currently have about 50GB of free space but I keep getting this message. I bought Darksiders 2 at the same time and was able to download that even though its about 15GB. I'm thinking something is wrong with that particular game. Anyone ever have this issue?

Sometimes you have to have a certain amount of space just for the download to start. Even though the File says 50gb, you’ll still need extra room. Just delete a game or two you’re not playing, and reinstall them later if you pick them back up. That’s what I do, or get an external hard drive.

Had it happen on PC recently.

World of Warships added Italian cruisers line. I had enough room on hdd for the update. WoWs downloader wanted enough room to redownload the entire game though. Like it wanted double download.

Moved some stuff around and it downloaded.

I have 50GB. The game is 7GB. There should be more than enough room.

Right I understand that, but unfortunately the PS4 hard drive requires minimum space for it to initiate a download. 50 GB is apparently not enough room for it to start, even if the file is only 7 GB.

I doubt it's only 6.7gbs. You're probably looking at the minimum amount of space needed just to boot the game up.

Idk if you have the Warmastered version but that's 38.5gbs. LINK

You would be able to download it no problem if the true game size was 7gbs.

Yes I got the bundle on sale recently. I should still have enough space though. This is just one of the more frustrating things about the PS4.

I have the same issue. With all the games I'm playing installed, I still have 60 GBs free. But for a COD UPDATE, I need to delete another 6 GBs. It's fricking annoying.

Not really. If you had a phone and needed more room.. a mp3 player,Xbox, computer.

List of shite can go on and on where you run out of room.

Thumb drives, flash cards, you get the picture.

Get a bigger hard drive.

Just go get an external drive and put all the games you don’t currently play on it, problem solved

Its either compression of the download or some sort of progressive download where you only initially download enough of game to get started. Full game space like 50gb+ needs to be available for the full install. Without enough free space to allocate to the game, the system won't permit the download.

Suggestions about deleted unused games or getting external HD is good advice.
