One of my favorite gaming launch memories is driving by Best Buy, Target, and Walmart and seeing those lines for the Switch and initially being mad at myself for not going earlier, then just walking into Toys R Us and getting one in 5 minutes.

I miss that place.

Maybe they'll do like Alarmo and open up limited preorders to switch online accounts first.

They will certainly try however Nintendo said they were going to be making a strong effort to have a lot more stock at launch, effectively making so many Switches that scalpers can't impact availability.

We'll see if it pans out that way.

Yep, same here. The thing I'm looking forward to is hopefully better Wi-Fi because my switch constantly disconnects during splatoon 3 matches and I'm continually getting 10 minutes Do Better timeouts.

Orange and blue is a no-go in my household. I wouldn't even let my Home Depot and Best Buy credit cards touch in my wallet.

Been banking my tickets at Dave and Buster’s for some time and should easily have enough for this once it is available. Should be the same amount of tickets as the Series X and PS5.

If they don't have an OLED screen by default, I'm going to be very disappointed, but I'll get over it.

Are Nintendo fans and consumers really going to continue to settle for a console that outputs less than 1080p 60fps?

The rumors are that it will be 720p or 900p and upscale to 1080p.

I can only speak for myself. Nintendo is my 3rd system far behind ps5 and pc. I mostly use my switch for very specific franchises Nintendo has locked down tight like Zelda and that shite. Anything that’s cross platform is aways going to be a better experience on the more powerful hardware obviously but the trade off you choose with the switch is the option of mobility. Like if the switch two can play FF7 Rebirth, FF16, RE4 remake and shite like that at 30 fps upscaled to 1080p I think a good many people will find that a tolerable option for the on the go compatibility. I don’t play my switch undocked like ever so again not really a factor in my decision.

Isn't that confirmed? I read that earlier today. OLED model releasing in 2-3 years

Myself nor my kids have any idea what the hell this is vs isn’t in terms of what it actually looks like on my tv. I’d imagine there are tens of millions of households that are similar. If they keep making great games that are fun to play only hardcore gamers are going to give a shite about these kinds of specifications to the point where they don’t buy a Nintendo.

Yup. The games are still amazing. If people don’t play because of those two things then their priorities aren’t good gameplay.

Not saying this is you but it amazes me how there are people who act like Nintendo is somehow screwing their customers over when by and large, nobody cares about it when they are playing Mario and Zelda games that win Game of the Year.

Nintendo isn’t in competition with Sony or Microsoft. They are their own thing and will be around after those two inevitably eat each other. They don’t need to run COD or anything else to be successful

Going back to 25-30fps on the last Zelda was a huge shock. People cared, it was very annoying.

I remember a small minority complaining when it was first released. So it wasn’t annnoying enough that is impacted sales or how people felt about the game in a meaningful way. People get over it fast. If 30 FPS ruins a game for you, then you’re too picky as far as I’m concerned
