New PS+ Tiers

So the new PS+ tiers (Essential, Extra, and Premium) are available today in the US.
I logged in to the PlayStation Store to see my upgrade options and thought this was interesting.
I have regular PS+ stacked through 9/21/25 (now called Essential). To upgrade to Extra, it costs $100 and then I have Extra through 9/21/25. To upgrade to Premium, it costs $150 and then I have Premium through 9/21/25.
All in all, not bad considering Premium is normally $120/year and Extra is normally $100/year.

Yeah, I am going to have Gamepass for a total of 6 years for $2 upcharge 
All 1st party games are on GP at launch.

Going to give premium a try. seems worth it just skimming through the games list.
Ive checked out game pass and do not think this is true.
Seems like people like to lie about game pass.
For example, God of war is on psplus, but i dont see it on game pass.

classics catalog was pretty underwhelming to look through imo

it doesn't go back far enough. they really need to create a PS3 emulator and bring in PS1 and PS2 games into the fold. there might've been some that i didn't recognize, but there's no value there for the casual gamer. gimme MP access and 2 free games per month and i'm gucci.

I tried out Death Stranding and I felt like I was having a fever dream. Pretty sure I saw Kojima's name about 6 times in the opening credits.

The classic games for PS1/2/P are already in there I thought. The list you posted only showed PS4 games that are included.

I was hesitant to get it, but went ahead and did it. $120/ year is not bad at all. New games are 59-69. That’s 2 new a year. Over the course of the year there will always be new games added I’ll want to play.

This is exactly why I went with the Premium tier. I figured if I played 2 games a year I was getting my money's worth.

Got a PS Now code right before the conversion, have Premium now until 2026.
