So they only cared to offer a self-help fix for offline play.

Correction. I'm fairly certain it was adjusted for online play, because...

quote:

is this true for online play? e.g. online dynasties?

Yes. In my online dynasties, the CPU QB will scramble frequently when the play deteriorates.

quote:

Your guy has to have nobody anywhere near him, or else the "phase-through effect"

If it happens, it's rare. But like I said, I rarely throw near the endzone. If I do, I throw to someone who is wide open or make it a jump ball. "Phase-throughs" rarely happen then.

quote:

But the same blips, glitches, and bugs showing up year after year?

That is the problem.

The bugs themselves have been there for years. I just got tired of their never being fixed.

Like I mentioned earlier, this is most likely the hardest thing to program. 22 different entities on the field and you want to ensure that each entity, on each down, never "runs-through" or "phases-through" another. You realize this effect happens in nearly every game to some extent, right?

quote:

How many meet/greets, booster rallies, fundraisers does the coach have to attend?

Make completing 5-6 practices a week mandatory, before touting the realism of recruiting.

I don't want mandatory practices, nor do I want 30 mins of tedium before every game.

OK, now I know you are getting frustrated. Meet and greets? 5-6 mandatory practices?? C'mon, man. Stick to the topic. You're going far off base and off point. I was strictly referring to contractual goals in that instance and further, I only mentioned wanting more depth to the recruiting for those of us who enjoys such things. And I'm not sure how it takes you 30 minutes to recruit. That's your problem.

Meet and greets? Fundraisers?? I was trying to have a conversation, but you went off the deep end. GTFO with that nonsense.

Lastly, you claimed to have not played since September, yet CONTINUE to argue with people who HAVE played the UPDATED version of the game. Why don't you TRY it before you continue to bash, hmm?

Maybe he will post more pictures of qb's scrambling across the field and throwing back across their bodies. Or maybe he will show a qb throw a week bullet pass and the safety turns and gets it. IN REAL life if that comer had noone in front of him he'd have back peddled anyway allowing the safety time to react and or forcing the qb to miss that read.

Cool, maybe they corrected this glaring deficiency.

Kudos to them.

They are very common, hence the videos I've posted.

In the red zone, they are just amazingly frequent.

It must be, since there is no attempt to correct/account for it. . .

Not at all. I can have a reasoned discussion, with a capable person.

Why not, it is a realistic part of the experience, why stop the tedium at recruiting?

If your argument is that recruiting tedium is "part of the realism", that is. . .

Oh, so we should stick to the confines of only the framework you wish. Don't expound on the point at all.

You must be fun to talk to. . .

I posted several vids of the bugs/glitches still taking place, post-patch. I swear you guys just ignore shite that runs contrary to your presuppositions.

Every game has bugs and glitches. The amount of processing power you are expecting a console to have is rather absurd. They can't make animations and physics equations for the 10000 different permutations and combinations of collisions you are expecting. Especially for a series on a once a year production life cycle.

Its all about making money. The developers, beta testers, and shareholders were all fine with the pass defence. Players have learned to adapt.

Throw fades in the endzones, slip your rb out the backfield. Use a big tightend to run a curl route and then direct the pass so he faces and sits.

You can control the way the receiver tries to catch it, via user or by direction the pass with left stick. But you wouldn't know that, since you got frustrated and quit, yes?

Its fine to have a negative opinion of a game. none of us work for ea or make money defending them. I'm simply pointing out that many things you consider to be bugs and glitches, are intended. this is not an all inclusive statement as im fully aware legit bugs do exist.

Passing was way too easy on 11. So they made it tougher. Good players learned not to throw again a 90+ rated defensive back near the endzone who is set to aggressive pass d. bad players make videos cause they are upset and need validation.

Once again its a two way street. I've gotten mad at the "phasing" too, but when I get them on defence myself im not complaining. Do you play user matches, or just offline dynasties with simmed defence?

It boils down to return on investment. Its simply not worth ea's time to fix the infinite amount of perceived "problems". They make calculated judgments on a risk based approach with r.o.i being a main factor.

I'd much rather them working and polishing 13 instead of patching and fixing the things on 12 at this point. Most people would agree

You posted seven videos. Four of them were in the summer of 2011. That's approximately 4-5 months prior to the latest patch. So those are out.

The other three pertained to "psychic DBs" and the "broken FB." The psychic DBs do occur, but, AGAIN, with the patch and adjusted sliders, their reaction times are decreased. Hence, a better experience.

The broken FB video, by the way, is garbage. The USER immediately broke the run to the outside instead of following his "broken FB." If you watch the play, a huge, gaping hole opens up on the right side, WHERE THE PLAY WAS DESIGNED. But due to his FB not breaking outside with the user, all of a sudden, he is broken. The FB went with the play, the user didn't. Broken user IMO.

I was referring to the tedium and realism of recruiting, buddy. And you very well know that.

But, if we want to play your game...

quote:

Oh, so we should stick to the confines of only the framework you wish. Don't expound on the point at all.

We very well could go balls to the wall and just incorporate all kinds of useless actions and events to really bog down your time. Hell, why not have weekly player meetings, video breakdown of the opposing defense, contract negotiations during the season, gossip at the office water cooler with Sherrie the Secretary, feed Mike the Tiger on Wednesdays, brainstorming your next pep talk, a morning jog and bang the wife at night? Sounds good, right?

And on that realism, in relation to the psychic DBs, maybe their teammates are yelling from the sideline about the pass, eh? Telling him when the ball was thrown and where? I mean, if you want to go down the road of realism... F* it. Let's toss in piss balloons and poisoning tress.

The point of staying within the framework is to focus the conversation so it can conclude. Or, we can do it your way and begin incorporating semi-related topics in hopes of bolstering our respective arguments, taking us further out into the wilderness and further from finishing the conversation, like women do when they get into fights. I, rather, prefer to stay on topic. Whatever floats your boat.

quote:

You must be fun to talk to. . .

Actually, yes. And your condescending posts do nothing but discredit your arguments. But please, if it makes you feel better, go for it.

quote:

See above. I ignore irrelevant, old information, which is the majority of what you posted.

Kudos.

weak.

I'm with Roaad. When I'm playing BF3, if I get hit by a bullet even once, I want my guy to die on the spot and have the disk meltdown in the console, never to be played again. Then I want a SEAL Team 6 member to crash through my window and double tap me. REAL. LIFE. HARDCORE. GAMING.

easy way to fix this. What I do is recruit week 1 and offer anyone I really really want and let the computer take it from there.
