Just started playing this on PC, and I'm having a blast, but I'm a little frustrated at how long it takes to level. Well, maybe it's not that as much as it's just frustrating being a level 2 with nothing really to speak of as far as guns and attachments and having to hold your own against level 35's and 50's who can drop you from across the map with an SMG. I guess it's something I have to deal with getting into the game so late, and plus going from a console shooter to PC, but talk about a steep learning curve. I totally get rewarding a player for putting in the effort it takes to get to 50, but I think maybe something could have been done to help the lower level players not be at such a disadvantage.

My other is with squad deathmatch. I really love this game mode, especially if you aren't into running across a continent to get to the action. Smaller scale, and you are fighting against 3 other squads. Very similar to multi-team on Halo. The only thing that drives me nuts is the spawns. I'll usually spawn on my squad, but I learned to be careful with that, especially if they are in a gun fight cuz you will a lot of time get dropped right away. But I swear, about 50% of the time when I just spawn randomly, I'm already in the sights of another player. And I get dropped right away then as well. About as bad or worse than Halo CE was. I guess this is just the hazard of having 3 different teams coming at you (odds are you will spawn in front of someone), but it doesn't make it any less frustrating.

Regardless, this is just a fun and addicting game and I'm so ready to see what BF3 will look and play like. Since I'm so late to the game, I'm not sure if these issues I have are really "issues" and just something I'll have to adjust to.

Remember, you are playing alpha. There will be a beta next month, and hopefully everyone's complaints will be heard.

I read some impressions on the MP from BF3blog and they were stressing that this game doesn't feel like BFBC2 as far as movements and animations. That's a good thing to me.

Well if it's better, than I'm all for it.

I think Bad Company 2 is just an amazing MP, my few gripes aside, and what game doesn't have it's own issues. I'm really curious as to how different BF3 will be from BC, mechanics wise.

I'm rank 8 or 9 now, and I'm still pretty new like you. But the more weapons and perks I unlock, the better I feel I perform. Little things like getting access to a scope or getting the next tier weapon make a big difference.

I think my favorite thing with BFBC2 is the ability to switch up completely what you're doing at any time. Game types, classes, gun or vehicular combat, it's all pretty easy to switch to something different if you're getting frustrated.

I guess I hate how much you have to do just to unlock a flipping red dot........it's like you have to go through iron sight purgatory or something.

I have BC2, I'm playing the campaign right now. I think I'll try out MP tonight though. The campaign is pretty fun but I find the storyline a little bland and overplayed. ONOEZ and evil man is going to destroy the world and I has to stop him!

Get 'em.

I guess I see it as not much incentive for new players starting off. Or it makes it easy to go "screw this game, I'm tired of dying all the time". Maybe that's just how hardcore BF is \m/(>_<)\m/

You need to purchase the SPECACT kit. $5 and you get the M16A2 for assault, UMP-SA for engineer, and one of the better LMGs for medics, along with camo armor. The M16A2 and the UMP-SA are the best guns in the game for those 2 classes.

I'm running engineer primarily right now, so I might look into that.

Totally agree about being a lower level. Of course I suck at it like every other video game I play, but I swear probably 75% of my deaths I have no idea who shot me or where they shot me from.

On such a big scale, I think that's sometimes unavoidable. Can't just go running out in the open and not expect to get popped. But with nothing to counter it, it's a bit disconcerting.

+1. And I hate how BF games are always fighting Russians. We don't fight the Russians, let's get over it.

I'll creep around the outside ducking and hiding in buildings and whatever else and get taken out from somewhere everytime. EVERYTIME!

That's the key in this game. Not camp, but creep.

BTW, I just love the RPG in this game. You have some drop when you are firing long distances, but it's nowhere near as erratic as it is in BLOPS. Fitting one through a narrow window from about 200 yards and getting the kill equals

You will get all the guns and attachments at level 20, It does take forever to get to but after you start getting better guns it doesn't seem to go as slow.

well we were playing hardcore MJ and that really makes it hard to figure out where the guys are until you get used to the design of the maps.

My biggest tip is dont just hold the trigger down, but burst fire you gun. even at very close range, you will miss a lot of shots and waste a lot of ammo if you just hold down the trigger.

Good advice for any shooter, honestly. Hardest thing to train yourself to do if you are used to spray and pray.
