People actually care about CoD?
They are consistently the most sold PlayStation games

Why? What do you care if people still play WOW? I haven't played it in years, but the fact is a shite ton of people still love it.
Because it would be great to see other Warcraft games get released.
ETA: It does not bother me that WOW is popular or that people play it. I just remember when Blizzard made fantastic RTS games with amazing storylines and awesome cutscenes. I don't care if they make another Warcraft or Starcraft RTS, but give me a narrative game like that again that I don't have to pay a subscription for. If they will start doing that again without WOW having to die, then GREAT!

Generally not a fan of megacorps. Sony must be absolutely shitting its pants. It seems like they have three options to compete:
1) develop a competitive FPS (revive Resistance?)
2) sign a joint venture with Microsoft
3) buy up the other studios (EA etc.), but they don’t have the cash flow for this
Is everything eventually going be owned by 2-3 companies? Our entire lives will be on a fricking subscription model before we realize it.

This thread is hilarious. Acting like this changes anything at all for Sony. Sony is still gonna pump out their AAA exclusives and rake in the cash on consoles sales.
I personally can't wait for Horizon Forbidden West next month. It's gonna be great.

New hierarchy for Xbox leadership going forward. Fortunately they've all specified their pronouns.

One thing is for certain. If it's a thread about Microsoft, Bonkers is going to be in it.

at least they're the "proper" pronouns.

Corporations are so dumb.
Also, they have far too many women in leadership for gaming. Hopefully Phil Spencer never retires.

Gamepass is just another sub to forget you have and send Microsoft money.
None of these people care about making good games. They want your money.
If they did there would be more good couch coop games like the old days. Now you have to play everything online with pop ups in game that try to get you but the battle pass or buy this skin etc…
If you don’t like single payer games you are basically paying nonstop for multiplayer these days. I remember when one friend would buy a game and all your buddies would come over and play together on the same TV.

As if Sony doesn’t do the exact same shite
are we really going to pretend that buying Insomniac/Bluepoint/Housemarque/temporary exclusivity is the same as buying entire 3rd party publishing houses?

The only reason they didn’t buy them is because they can’t afford it. Don’t like your competitor buying developers? Outbid them

With COD, the best thing they did was create a battle royale and make it cross platform playable. It will be tough if they reverse course.
dont think they will. from the Forbes article

Microsoft plans to keep making some of Activision’s games for PlayStation consoles but will also keep some content exclusive to Xbox, said a person familiar with the company’s thinking.
It'll probably just be included in Gamepass and $60 with sony.
doesn't affect me since I play COD on my XSX and PC, but the numbers are pretty eye opening
Vanguard Sales
PS5 - 41%
PS4 - 29%
Xbone - 19%
XSX/XSS - 11%

Acting like Sony isn’t shitting themselves with this announcement is funny too.
Call of Duty outsells their AAA exclusives.

Sony will be glad to see CoD go... the first person genre scares them.

This is why they would be retarded to just cut out games for the ps5.
Sure it may make people just buy an xbox or a future microsoft product instead, but it would also piss enough people off to where they wouldnt out of priniple and stick with nintendo or sony

Well yes. That petty crap is what led to these massive purchases by Microsoft. As recently as just last year, Microsoft was offering an olive branch and trying to push cross-play and multi-platform gaming. Sony made it clear that they would prefer to be hostile and act like they are king.
