Lol I did this. It just let me reload and choose the other option tho.

I’m at the dragon god temple right now and not really enjoying it. Seems like I’m having to grind a good bit and it’s going way too slow. If you’ve got any tips on speeding that up I’d appreciate it

There’s a couple crystals on the 2nd floor I’m on I can farm by constantly using plunder magic to reup my mp. But I can’t beat the flower guys it spits out in overworld

i wouldn't spend too much time grinding xp there. if you have the ability that gives u mana every turn that you are buffed and the item that applies a buff to you at the start of combat and the doll that gives u 2 turns back to back u can just stack infinite mana tho.

i've seen others that were annoyed by that dungeon too, but i was able to get some great loot there. If u really want u can just take 2 calendar days to clear it tho. this game isn't really one where you have to min/max.

That’s the temple I said was a pain to do in one day. My advice is to just literally avoid almost every fight you can while you run around to get all the items and chest you can they are all really good she you can’t go back there don’t skip them.

The whole thjng is a big maze it might be prudent to just look up a map

Also if you aren’t already doing this always steal from mimics every chance. You’ll need to relative tiers of blessed water for purifying times. There are two places in the game that mimics respond but they’re later much later than where you are. If you end up needing their location lemme know

Also the boss there fully refill your health and mana and does a party choice before hand. Make sure to use the new character the summon archetype she unlocks lays waste. Oh and just a hint at what I meant earlier about having to have certain things maxed to get their ultimate archetype I think some are obvious and others aren’t. Let’s just say it would be very prudent of you to take the original persona master archetype through the faker tree and the summoner archetype through the seeker tree if you wish to see those ultimate archetypes

just saw it won Best RPG. well deserved. I still haven't played Astrobot so I can't judge the Game of the Year decision.

Yup it definitely did deserve it and im so glad it got the recognition it deserves. Astrobot is a damn good game at the exact time we needed a 10/10 game in that genre as a break from 3rd world action RPGs. Im fine it won I wanted it or metaphor to win.

So I’ve been playing on hard and pretty much rolling through with no issues. I got to the tower of blind faith last night which is the side quest dungeon before the dragon temple that has all bird enemies and a bird boss. I’m getting absolutely wrecked. I’m not sure if I’m under leveled or if I’m rolling with the wrong archetypes. I’m level 41 which would seemingly be good enough but the boss is 55 which seems like a really steep jump for this part of the game.

I’ve been using in order from top to bottom:

Protagonist- Wizard (mastered)
Magic Seeker (lvl 10)
Warrior (lvl 13)
Brawler (lvl 1)
Healer (lvl 8)
(Mage mastered)
(Seeker mastered)

Strohl-Samurai (mastered)
Sniper (lvl 3)
Cleric (lvl 1)
Seeker (lvl 10)
(Gunner mastered)
(Warrior mastered)
(Healer mastered)

Junah-masked dancer (lvl 13)

Hulkemberg-Pugilist (mastered)
Knight (mastered)
Faker (lvl 10)
(Brawler mastered)

Heismay- Assassin (lvl 18)
Treasurer (mastered)
(Theif mastered)

And haven’t had any issues. I believe my first mistake was not developing a cleric so a couple people can have the medium heal ability. I’ve been getting by with just Medi. I aquired the sniper once I knew this tower has to be fought from the back row. Do I suck or is this tower supposed to be this hard? It seems like a huge jump up. I can’t even clear the lower floors without exhausting all my resources. It took 3 days to get here so I’d rather not go back to town. I can grind the Skeletons on the 2nd to last floor if I need to. I also have been saving the “leafs” that help level the archetypes. I guess this may be the time to start using them

Did you go during bad weather? That definitely makes the dungeons tougher

shite. I didn’t know that . Probably, I’ve read on Reddit that it’s hard to catch this dungeon without bad weather

I’ll be honest that’s the one aspect of the game I haven’t paid much attention to is the weather since they give you plenty of days to complete side quests.

Yeah if that’s the one you have to take the boat to I believe it always has the heat forecast. I don’t even think you can get edeni to clear it because it takes three or so days just to get there

Yeah I thought I had read that was the case. I don’t want to leave since it took 3 days to get there. Might just have to grind it out. I really don’t want to drop the difficulty

Got through it without dropping the difficulty.

Grinded a couple levels off the over world skeletons on the 2nd to last floor and switched up my archetype strategy. Went faker for Hulk to constantly debuff, mastered masked dancer for Junah to get her high damage fire attack, went wizard with protag and learned medica for higher healing, and went sniper with strohl to attack from long distance and also taught him medica for healing. Made sure nobody was weak towards wind, and kept everybody on the back row to not give the boss more turn icons. Wasn’t doing big damage but kept chipping away and eventually killed it.

On to the dreaded dragon temple

Game dosent want to end. I feel like I’ve been asked to “prepare for the final battle” about 5 times just for there to be another twist

I’m at 70 hours and ready to be done. Just killed the Zorba monster in the Elda glade. I’m still loving the battle style. Trying out new combinations never gets old and there’s so much variety to the archetypes and what you can do with them, and with how they ramp the difficulty up towards the end it really makes you have to strategize. It’s just great and satisfying.

That being said I’ve grown tired of the cheesy anime story and I’ve found myself skipping through dialogue and cut scenes here at the end which I NEVER do. Theyre just so damn long just to always say “but we can make a new world where everyone is equal”. I get it’s a Japanese anime style game and that’s to be expected but it’s still pretty over the top.

Bruh have you never played an atlus game before?

I get the way the story and settings and themes are way more fantasy and not in the real world and not nearly as “adult” or M rated as persona or SMT but it’s basically the same. P5 Royal will make you think you’re fighting the last boss like 4 times.

As far as length I best metaphor blind in 90 hours maxing out confidants and social stats, etc. that’s the shortest by far for any of their games for me.

P5 royal for someone like me who knows exactly where to go, what to do and when, and what to say still takes 120-130 hours. I imagine blind you can bump that up to 160-170

Nope lol. I guess you just really FEEL all those hours. I had 120 in cyberpunk last year and it didn’t feel like that much at all. And I beat HZD right at 70 and it felt short. This game just feels long for some reason

It could be the general gameplay loop of their games that has you feeling fatigue.

Basically once the game is established itself it becomes 3-4 weeks to do mission, do mission, spend time until that window is up boosting social stats or confidants or random things you can do.

It could also be the setting, story, and fantasy element. I agree the writing at times is very cheesy and your main character at times seems overtly positive.

I’d recommend trying persona 5 royal. The game is set in modern day Japan, it’s M rated and far more interested in dealing with more adult topics like suicide, sexual abuse, the complexity and corruption of politics, etc. The way you answer in conversations when you hang out with confidants actually matters as well, as certain answers give more points to you being closer to their next rank up.

I'm about to Platinum this game. Really enjoyed it. Never played any of the Persona games but I think I'm going to give them a try based on this one.

I am addicted to this game now.

One of the best games I have played in a loooong time.

Woke, sure, but so well written

I missed games giving you reasons to care about party members

I died laughing at Catherine's metal armored Whale Tail

10/10 game.
