then do all the side missions.
So you want to half arse the series and half arse the final game and still get the happy ending.

First time I played ME2 I didn't know you needed to do all the side content and get all the upgrades. Lost a lot of folks and when I rolled into ME3 the game was a lot shorter for me because all the returning characters were dead.
Played 1-3 then did an immediate replay doing all of the side content to save everyone.

You uploaded your ME2 ending to Youtube didn't you? (spoiler for those they never played it)

lol. Not quite that bad.
Usually I do all the side quests and missions. Not sure why I didn't do that for ME2. Maybe because I was playing all 3 for the first time and was casually running through them.
Loved the series so much decided to get a better ending for everyone and replayed the series.
I think my ME2 disaster made me much more cautious playing games since then.

What if you've already played all three games and just want to play through 3 by itself?
Then you should play the frick out of the one game you want to play and get the good ending. Not sure I’m sympathetic to only wanting to play one game, but not wanting to play it too much

First timer here. Some observations:
1. Fun game so far
2. Ton of dialogue. Like 10 times more than I expected
3. Not a lot of environment interaction but I guess that is to be expected being 14 years old
4. No idea who to pick for my party or how to level up

Non spoiler tip:
Talk to every that has a name. Quests are everywhere, and sometimes don't show up until later, so don't get comfortable using fast travel. You'll miss things. Talk to everyone on your crew after every mission. They will usually have unique dialogue. And you can generally only push your friendships/relationships forward after major quests, so if you just avoid talking to your crew for a few missions, you may run out of time to get all of the available dialogue. Do every quest. The more you do, the better the later games are.

Elaborate on this a bit more. Happy to help.
ETA: Go into options and turn off whatever they call the setting that the Mako steering is camera based. Turn that off. It will make moving around a little harder, but enemy missiles are aimed at the Mako's nose. Much easier to dodge them if you turn broadside to your enemy and just move forward and back while shooting "sideways".

quote:Completely depends on how you want to play. Most characters have different powers (biotic, combat, tech). You can pick a well rounded crew or a skewed crew.

And frankly, picking your squad based on personality is half the fun.
Ideally, between you and your squad, you have someone spec’d for first aid, someone to open containers, someone to get through barriers, and someone to get through shields.
Beyond that, have fun and enjoy the banter.

Just finished the Vermire mission and it makes me hate the ending of ME3 even more than I already did. I don't want to say anything more than that since at least one person posting in here seems to have not played any of the games yet but hopefully those of you who are playing the trilogy again know what I'm talking about.

I think we would probably be well served by having a spoiler thread and a non-spoiler thread, considering it's basically impossible to discuss a remaster in any depth without spoilers.

I already did that the first time I played it. I would assume the target audience for this re-release are people who either 1) have never played Mass Effect before or 2) have played through the franchise (some of them multiple times).
For those who have previously played through the games, it would be nice to have modifiers that allow us to tinker with the different choices that carry over from game to game when we just want to play ME2 or ME3.

ME3 was the least modified game of the series. I have to think that the people who have 1. Previously played the entire series, approaching 100% completion AND 2. Spent $60 to purchase the remaster AND 3. Only did so in order to re-play ME3…
Are a vanishingly small percentage of the ME:LE player base.

Dude, you're the one who paid $60 for a remaster of a game that was released in 2012

I never played through Mass Effect 1 and only some of Mass Effect II so I got this. I played all of 3 and got a shitty ending and I rage replayed the game to get the good ending lol.
So I got this and I’m enjoying it. Makes more sense now seeing how things started lol

I didn't think my class could use biotics my first run through. I was wondering why it was so damn hard as an Infiltrator.

Ok, this humored me

I first played the series years after 3 was released, so to me, the trilogy is just one big game. I can't even imagine what playing one of the later games without having played the earlier ones would be like.

I remember them mentioning Eden Prime so much in the other games and Eden Prime was like 10 minutes lol. I was expecting a lot more
