Voeld is the worst for fetch missions

There is a good article on polygon arguing that bioware needs to abandon the open world nature of their RPGs

I loved the OT because I could do everything in 30 hours. Everything in Andromeda is 60+ hours and I'm not going to get much replayability out of it

Yeah, I'm not even bothering to try a second playthrough for Andromeda. I still get flashbacks of the hinterlands man... so many fetch quests
Posted on 4/18/17 at 3:50 pm to sbr2
Come on...the Hinterlands were awesome. Especially with all the folks on here sending unsuspecting folks directly into the dragon location.

It was a right of passage in that game.

You and me both. Finished main story. All planets at 100% viability. Done with game. Zero interest on another playthrough.
Even figured out the OP skills. Makes everything? else worthless. Why try another playthrough?

I started the single player after burning out on the MP.
Sentinel build. Energy Drain, Throw, Incinerate. At level 25, I have it where ED and incinerate both prime and detonate, throw is quick detonate / crowd control.
The sentinel bonuses make you tanky, ED makes you more tanky, and the chest augment that grants 25% shield on kill makes you even more tanky. Incinerate specced for armor damage makes quick work of stuff, ED specced for shield damage takes care of shields. All mods on my armor are either tech damage, tech recharge, or combo damage.
Really starting to get into the story now that I have a few viable worlds and my character is built how I like it.

So is this game fun? I gave up after the first level but I might try again
Posted on 4/24/17 at 3:14 pm to el Gaucho
I just finished it for the 3rd time so yeah I'd say so myself
Posted on 4/24/17 at 5:04 pm to Byron Bojangles III
So is it really short? It's only been out like 2 weeks

About as long as ME3.
To me it was fun, but it was the least interesting of the 4. I did enjoy Voeld, which seems to be an unpopular opinion.

It's a long arse game if you did everything. Total I've put in about 120 + hours in 3 play throughs. The last I didn't do side missions and it was about 20 hours

Finally finished Horizon tonight.. should I get this as my next game? I love Mass Effect but I put this one off because of the early reviews

My experience thus far is: if you love mass effect, get this game.
It is the worst of the 4, but that doesn't make it a bad game. The story is a bit ham handed, some facial animations are wonky, and the dialog can be downright sophomoric at times, but it is still worth your time as a fan of mass effect. Combat is super fun.
Don't get mired down with trying to complete everything on each planet either. You'll burn yourself out.

I got to 35 hours by making all planets habitable, gaining the loyalty of all crew members, and finishing the main story.

You must not do much exploration or stop to kill little encampments. I've spent 60 hours on the game and have about a 40% completion.

I like to complete the quest log and to do so would require 80-100 hours, but it would be boring as hell.
