Any fans here who played the Gamecube and Wii versions? I was initially very excited when I heard this was coming out a few months ago, but I'm a bit concerned at the lack of characters and it not being as well done as the one on the Wii. It's been 15 years since the previous strikers game, and I hope this one lives up to it.

Daisy needs to be back in some form. She's perfect for this game.

The demo was on the shop this past weekend.

It's actually pretty solid control wise, and lots of little techniques to use.

So 3 things about the characters:

1) THe stats matter more in this than in the past it seems, and they can be modified with gear

2) And you can have multiples of the same characters on your team with multiple gear layouts it seems, so while the character model count starts low, I think there is some light customization in putting a diverse team together.

3) Data miners uncovered 10 slots for characters - so if this follows the Mario Tennis ACES model, that will get filled up.

Aces ended up being pretty good and the technique play is great there if you do the simple mode. I think Battle League feels better, and feels like a higher skill ceiling.

I'm pumped for this.

Do you know if you can chip the ball in this game? That was such a pivotal part of Mario strikers charged.

Glad to see more characters. Wish they were unlockable as opposed to DLC. I think it’d encourage more playing

Haven't tried. You can chip the ball in any direction by holding L. Whether that leads to a clever scoring opportunity, not sure.

Reviews are out and the game seems really solid, lacking only single player.

Picking mine up at Target. They said no need to pre order because there will be more copies than demand.

I tried the demo and it is well done. This game will not be easy to master but I think it’s harder to score, which is why I think there’s more time on the clock with 4 minutes as opposed to 3.

I don’t like how there aren’t different sounds for scoring horns. Charged had a unique sound at every stadium.

I don’t think this game has people lining up outside GameStop for a midnight release so it’ll be tomorrow morning.

I have mixed feelings as well. I hope online play shows an opponent’s record like in charged so you know what you’re dealing with on the other side lol

I played a few quick matches last night. It is definitely strikers. Have no idea how the online will play, but the game is exactly what I wanted it to be. It is a blast playing with people. Few small tweaks to mechanics and stuff from the gamecube version, but overall it feels the same.

Like a more robust single player experience.

There are cup battles.... but even good progression can only be made online.

Just picked my copy up, boys. Pretty excited to check it out. What controllers are you using? A pro controller?

I’ve gotten all of the switch Mario sports games and this is by far the best one.

Has anyone found a way for it to auto switch players when you pass to them? That is one thing that is annoying the piss out of me, having to switch right after I pass so they will do what I want them to.
