Sister-in-law got me this gift... she obviously hates me and wants to see me suffer...
The nostalgia is overwhelming. And you can skip to any level so you can rage quit whatever level you want!
Seriously, these games are so hard
The controls blow and having to start a level over from the beginning every time you die is just the most exhausting thing.

I had completely forgotten this Lion King game existed. Holy frick was it hard when I was a kid. I’d probably try it again but I don’t have a switch, and I’m not about to buy one

I don’t know how true this is but I once read that they made these licensed kids games really hard on purpose so you couldn’t finish them in a rental period and had to buy.

Generally speaking, they started out reasonably easy/fair, but you had a difficulty spike around level 2/3. In The Lion King, it was the fricking giraffe level. A lot of times, the bullshite spike was just for one level, just to burst a weekend playthrough.

Never played aladdin. But seriously, frick that lion king game. shite became impossible pretty quick.

I watched a full playthrough of the Lion King once with a guy (I think) that worked on the game. Regardless, they knew a lot about it. Once you stop being shitty baby Simba, the game gets pretty fun.

Haha apparently. Also, there is a segment where you are an adolescent Simba that was originally in the movie but got cut. From what I remember, the game designers had to get permission from Disney to keep that segment in the game.

The escape from the cave of wonders and the lion king stampede levels were both hard as frick.
Which version of Aladdin is this? The Genesis and SNES versions were different (with SEGA being the far superior version)

I think it's both. You can choose which one to play. They make you choose "Console N" or "Console S" before starting. I think I had these on Sega as a kid. Haven't gotten to Aladdin yet. I can only take so much frustration

That damn ostrich level on TLK can frick right off. I completed both games on the SNES versions a few months back. Going to fire them back up this summer for the other versions.

Major nostalgia blast. I played Aladdin a ton when I was little. I maybe got to the magic carpet/lava level less than a handful of times.
