I've finished up the epilogues and immediately started over to go over the world with a fine tooth comb. Already encountered about 3-4 hours worth of content I never even came across the first time through and I'm not even finished with Chapter 2.

The slower you take this game, the more it shines. The level of detail in this game is fricking absurd.

It’s an amazing game. Easily one of the best narratives ever woven in a video game. It’s pretty amazing how bad the combat is though.

I'm leaning towards getting back in and finishing it. I'm still in Chapter 3, but I'm easy to distract with various hunting, gambling, fishing challenges, particularly.

Otherwise, I'm buying Witcher 3 during the Steam Summer sale. I figure I can't go wrong, but RDR2 is a great game. I know that GTA is their bread and butter, but RDR2 is legendary (for me at Skyrim level because I don't know Witcher 3 except by reputation).

And I haven't seen anyone diss RDR2 in quite some time on here.

Phenomenal game. By far the best that Rockstar ever made.

I'll say it again: great story and very immersive, but annoying as hell to play. Rockstar game mechanics need to get with the times. There was that Kotaku story a few years ago where a few people from the development team said they were begging them to update the mechanics.

I'm glad I experienced that story but I highly doubt I'd be able to play through it again.

I'm actually watching the credits that play after the epilogue. The story is awesome. The gameplay is overall really good. I'd still take Witcher3 and maybe even Skyrim over RDR2, but it's definitely in my top 5 all time. My biggest complaint with the game honestly isn't really the game's fault, but one of circumstance. I mostly played it through in shorter bursts and never really got to get fully immersed like I have with other similar games. I think if I had more spare time to just really sink myself into the game I would have enjoyed it all the more. I'll definitely play it again, but I'll give it a few years before coming back to it so the story will be a bit more "new". I think someone mentioned earlier in this thread that there's a second epilogue, so technically I might still be finishing this play through for a bit longer.

Another side comment, I really like the soundtracks for the sparse parts in the game where they utilized it, the long cutscenes, transition scenes, credits, etc. I think overall it was done very well.

Finished all of it last night, wow what a game. Ended up going back in and heading out west and exploring. Amazing how they have recreated the whole world from RDR1 you don’t really touch till now

I finished the game a few years ago and it was a great experience. Very emotional ending to the main story and very immersive, as others have said.

I recently saw that there was a VR mod available so I started playing it again in that format. Still a great game.

I think it’s because that last part is just straight up trash.
