All I got from there is examples from the games that I was already aware of that was easier to just copy and paste.

They've modernize songs for these games plenty of times. Listen to the AC2 soundtrack. The Origins soundtrack is very synth heavy. It's not all period specific music.

I did and it's all infused with classical instruments and instruments from that location, even the synth parts. Some of those songs are for the Desmond modern day parts of the game.
It's pretty on the nose to just assume the Black Samurai should fight with hip hop-Japanese music.

Is this is the gameplay video they released recently?
If it's that first combat sequence with him, it's a poppy beat for sure but it's not necessarily hip-hop, and it straight up sounds like most of the combat music they've had in every game.

Just watched through that video again. Looks awesome. Can't wait for it to come out. I like how they are splitting up the gameplay styles between the characters.
I think even if they did make the Yasuke character Japanese, his play style would be the typical samurai experience everyone was expecting to get.
