Even if the noticable graphical jump is small relative to past console generations, his point is still completely stupid because within a year of release big name games will not be released for PS4 anymore, so it's not like you even have the option to keep using it over the PS5 if you wish to play new titles.

I’m pretty sure there won’t be a difference between gameplay and visuals.

If the rumors about the PS5 and new Xbox being cloud-based turn out to be true then their comment would be complete idiotic as their computing power would continue to rise as the backend is continuously upgraded with new hardware. It's going to suck for those people who are hamstrung by weak internet connections but for those of us on fiber optic and have gigabit speeds it will be great.

You are an idiot if you buy a system solely for graphical upgrades.
Now when a system offers definitive performance upgrades that’s a different story. You should buy a new console for its games first and foremost, not its graphics. Xbox 1 and PS4 is such a great example of that. Xbox loves to dick measure all the time with its graphics and never just shows off decent games. Cuphead, Dragon’s Crown, Wonderful 101, Astral Chain, Ori.....all of those can look great with enhanced graphics but it’s not needed at all. It’s all about art direction and gameplay optimization.

Meh, if you have to do this, you must know you're talking to an idiot.

Yes.
Don't let goofy ppl on the internet fool you.
I'm releasing myself from this engagement, consolers don't deserve my time.

I had a guy make fun of me for still buying PS3 games. You can't win sometimes

Sometimes wish I still had my PS3. Playing Fallout 3 on the PC isn't ideal.

Man.. I wanted to respond with a similar story involving WiiU but don't feel like typing.
But I hear you.

So buying a PS2 back in the day or an N64 made me an idiot considering the huge graphical upgrades there?

"only for"
But that is a poor comparison. We're reaching a point of diminishing returns. We arguably have been since the PS2 days. Some PS2 games and most PS3 games have aged very well from a gameplay and visual standpoint. That is why remasters are so prevalent with this generation of consoles.

Ps4 graphics are lightyears above ps2 lol

If you have a PS4 Pro or especially if you have a Xbox One X I would not exactly be in a rush to get either next gen system. Maybe in the next few months we will see some killer app for PS5 that will change my mind but as of yet I'm not really excited about the next gen. Microsoft came out and said will not have any first party exclusives for the Series X that wont also be on the One series for at least a year. I wouldnt say someone is idiot to want upgrade though.

My original PS4 from 2013 is still chugging along so I plan on getting this bad boy out the gate.
Really hoping backwards compatibility includes the ability to just download a game you already had, pick up from your cloud save, and keep trucking. I gotta keep trucking on Witcher 3

Show me, NewEgg and Amazon are showing $250 to be the starting point for the card. PC can go far beyond the capabilities of consoles but they're not cheaper.

So I would say it's equivalent to a 16GB 1070 PC, and that's a pretty good deal for $499.
But let me guess, that doesn't count.

The transfer from my XBOX One to One X was really simple. I understand the PS4 to Pro was easy too so hopefully its the same with next gen.

One X are even cheaper now. $250.-$350.00. Someone is really claiming to be able to build a pc equivalent of a One X in that price range?

It's a 4 year old card for christs sake, it's over-inflated new value doesn't mean shite
Hell, here's a PC with a GPU better then the 1070
