In Gamestop the other day. Heard a worker telling a customer only idiots would buy the PS5

I figured. He said it wouldn't be near worth the price unless theres backwards capability.

You should have asked him if he knew that Gamestop's stock has dropped by 90% since 2015.

I mean, generally speaking it takes a couple of years of a console's life cycle before games start to really shine on the hardware.

The early years of the PS4 featured a lot of games that released as cross-gen and as a result where inherently designed around weaker hardware in mind.

The PS5 will have much better looking games at some point. Almost assuredly at launch. The PS4 also already has an install base of 100+ million and developers aren't going to gimp sales by not offering their games on both generations for the first couple of years. Expect lots of games built for the PS4 that run at higher frame rates or resolution on the PS5.

I've never had a game crash, that didn't otherwise have widespread problems that weren't fixed by the devs; i.e., it wasn't my system's fault. I'm just trying to explain why PC is infinitely better than console, and FPS is one of them. But congrats on some of your games running at 60 FPS.

For the record, I own a PS4 for exclusives but even more and more of those are coming to PC. We get Xbox exclusives too because of MS. They love Steam.

I do think console players get screwed though... they do charge a good bit for these systems when they're new and they aren't up to snuff with even a comparable PC, then they drop off features like backwards compatibility they could implement. I don't think console players should be treated that way even though I tout PC gaming. Didn't mean to come off snarky. I don't think I'm better than a console gamer - I exclusively played on consoles up until 2014.

So you took my comment about the price of consoles when they're brand new and counter with the price of an Xbox One X in 2020? I literally said new consoles, as in the price of the PS5.
