I think Goldeneye is getting punished due to the fact that it hasn't aged well at all. I could argue for it being higher, but not way higher.

Oregon Trail way too low.

The debates on this kind of list always fascinates me. There are only 10 spots in the top 10 and I always feel like people’s love for games make people try and stuff 20 different games into 10 spots.

I'm surprised one of the Age of Empires didn't make it, especially 2. That game was absolutely huge.

And after years of listening to the giant bomb GOTY deliberations, these lists are always going to frustrate and annoy because it's made by people of different tastes and preferences. Like this year, a dating SIM called Dream Daddy made it on their top 10 list for 2017, while games like Horizon, Persona 5, and Nioh were snubbed.
My list would never even hint at a Smash Bros game, but I don't pretend to think they are not widely accepted as good games.

But there is a reason why many, many people love game x and game y. That's what the deliberations are about.
I think they should do away with 1, 2, 3.... and go with tiers instead, or some other way to group selections together so as not to create direct, x is better than y, scenarios.
