They haven't changed since you could get an NES game for $25-40.

Games were first released for $60 in November 2005. If we followed the equivalent rate of inflation for today we should be paying $78 per game. $70 sounds like a steal.

And yes I’m well aware of how micro transactions have offset purchase price.

I don’t pay full price for games anymore. There’s more than enough F2P content to keep me occupied

I only pay full price for AAA titles that I feel strongly about, like FF7 Remake. Otherwise I generally wait for sales.

No. I'll keep just playing whatever XBox puts on Game Pass...which feels like everything worth playing on XBox anyway.

ETA: Will probably still buy the Switch games I want.

I’m going the route of PS5 Digital. So hopefully I can scoop up games months after drop date for cheaper.

I never pay full price almost every game is on sale cheaper a few months after release. Like the other poster said I have plenty of back log to keep me busy until the sale price is low enough to buy.

Yeah. I only buy as much as I do because I still have 20% off all new games from the Best Buy Gamers Club deal (runs out 01/2021). I can't image paying $70 for a video game. I have a hard time spending $48.

I'll buy games I'm certain to love, but that's really only 2-3 games/year and the rest will be bought on sale (sub $30).

they changed when they went to $60.

Between that and the cost of DLCs, mine changed completely. I now wait for the ultimate editions to get released for $20 plus all the DLC content
