How is Red Dead online?

I played it the week it was announced but hadn't beaten the main game so I didn't spend much time playing it. I also heard it was really bad but I know that Rockstar has continued putting out content and maybe fixed it? What's the boards opinion on it?

So they were never able to fix it?

I mean it’s just not all that fun.

most of the kinks have been worked out but it’s missing content. it’s fun at the beginning to unlock all the roles and grind money but I have like 150k dollars and nothing to do anymore

Ive put about 20 hours in to it recently and its ok. There just isnt a lot to it. Like 5 or 6 questline type missions for your honor level (good guy/bad guy) and then like 5 different roll types you can level up. The map shows a lot to do but its just the same things over and over again.

It's really fun with friends for a bit, then yeah the repetitive nature of it gets boring. Was decent fun for $5 though. Needs more content. Roping people and throwing them off high cliffs kills a ton of time, lol.

I remember grabbing Red Dead, the original game, and going into online mode.
I would see a dot hauling arse at me, and i'd be dead, before i saw the bullet or who shot it.
I'd respawn, see this dot hauling arse, i'd look for it, i'd be dead before i even heard a gun shot.
I was like ok, not for me.

This. It is very fun with friends, but in short bursts. It is surprisingly a good amount of work to build up the resources to get some cool stuff. Still lots of fun and gorgeous to just do stuff, missions are fun for a bit, just very repetitive and hard to just play for long sessions.

was it worth us not getting any DLC for RTR?
