Just did the first Cauldron.
Again, the visuals. Inside of a machine is a huge contrast from the rest of the game and it looks incredible.

Took down a Thunderjaw. Jesus Christ.
I had to cheese him by hiding in the mountains above and taking pop shots. He's got cannons on the side of his head like those AT-ATs in Empire Strikes Back. Shoot one of them off and you can pick it up to use against him. Too bad I didn't know that until after the fight. I was too busy running around like an idiot.
And frick Stormbirds.

PC wouldn't run it at 4K HDR though. Mild settings maybe, but you'd need a $5,000+ PC and great SLI support.
Tis the drawback, not even close to worth it.

I really doubt it can all things considered, dual card support is awful on PC and you'd be relying solely on that to push a decent frame rate.
No single card is near decent 4K, and the monitors aren't out yet anyways even if it could.
This is why I got the Pro though, value is so high for the quality.
DOOM at 4K in my rig was nice and stable at 60fps thanks to Vulkan but underwhelming without HDR. HDR just matters so much more than resolution.

If a titan xp can't run it at 30 then they are working some voodoo with that 4 tf ps pro gpu.

On "crank to 11" settings? I would bet no. And yes checkerboard rendering is pretty revolutionary.

I enjoyed the fact that it was just run to this and kill/collect whatever and come back. It was whatever. The voice acting, yeah, that was some garbage
The sawtooth fight was pretty fun. I've only actually died once and that's because I was trying to figure out that slide-jump-slomo thing. Just got to where Rost leaves you. I get the comparisons to Far Cry, but the dialogue stuff is really reminding me of Mass Effect.

I tried to get ambitious last night and ride into an area that was still clouded on the map. A sawtooth came out of nowhere and just fricked my shite up. I was dead in seconds, never saw it coming. I called it a night after that
Depends on how long you frick about or how fast you blow through story. Its fairly early in the story but i think i was like 5 hours of gameplay in on mine. Its not that long after The Proving.

OK. Haven't spent much time looking at the skill unlocks and didn't know if that was one of them. I guess that's a special staff you get at some point, other than what I'm carrying.
I'll tell you what, hiding in the tall grass and waiting for them to walk up on you.........money. Got 3 good hits on that first sawtooth that way and it made all the difference.

Ps4 pro checkerboards 4k. Does more than upscale but not full 4k.

And yes you get a device that helps you tame mounts. You can tame more than just that though.
I am about 15 hours in I would say and have been doing more exploring than anything.
I am around lv 23 and my story missions are still at lv 13.
