Loving this game. It’s really is perfect with the feel of Hogwarts. Couple of complaints:

1. Wish you could perform the unforgivable curses when not in battle.
2. The inventory blows.

It does, but once you get into the habit of fast traveling to Hogsmead to sell off everything, it stops really being an issue. The trouble is that the game doesn’t really telegraph that there’s basically zero reason to hold onto anything you’re not currently wearing, but once you internalize that, you’re solid.

True. Wish there was just more storage capacity so you wouldn’t have to make so many trips if you’re trying to make some money

Merlin trials increase inventory size. I didn't even do that many of them until I had finished the game, and I honestly rarely had any issue with inventory being full. Maybe go the first inventory upgrade. I always seemed to be near a vendor to sell stuff.

The clothes are worthless I feel like I could’ve beat the game in the og outfit

Of course I haven’t beaten it yet but I got burned out with the glitchy pc port. I may come back if they fix it

It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty much fixed. Last patch was solid.

I think this is a good foundation for them to start, but they do need to make a much deeper game

Oh no doubt. Was purely responding in the context of the performance issues the game was released with.

If I'm them, I don't know if I spend time and effort on DLC. I would keep the castle/world 90% the same, add some embellishments, maybe one new area, and pour a year's worth of development time into fleshing everything out for the next game. More stories, add companion/faction/morality systems that were cut, etc, etc. The pretty is already there; don't reinvent the wheel. Keep that and build where the game is lacking.

Anyone else finding it chore-some to finish all the quests. I’m like 50 hours in and level 34.

May just need a break

The story is good, but the game is definitely a repetitive chore.

More time into calling the protagonist he and she instead of they would be nice. Calling me by plural pronouns just doesn't work for me.

The shite some of you get worked up about

Voiced games try to avoid pronouns for the main character because recording nearly double the dialogue is extremely expensive. I’m currently replaying the Mass Effect trilogy, and I’m referred to as “the Commander” or “Shepard” in place of third person pronouns in practically every line of dialogue. Again, zero to do with wokeness and everything to do with keeping costs down.

I'd they'd done something like this, it would have been fine. Constantly referring to the character as "they" as if that's a singular pronoun is stupid. Especially when literally every other character in the game uses actual singular pronouns.

They kind of tried to, but it was even worse. Their equivalent of “the Commander” was “the new 5th year” which is just awful. What I truly don’t understand is why they didn’t give the PC a set last name. I guess they figured it would box them in lore-wise, but it meant they didn’t have a “Shepard” equivalent. Thus all the awkward third person pronoun usage.

The game lets you set your gender independently from everything else. It would have been trivial to code pronoun usage, if they had the double recorded dialogue, which they clearly didn’t want to pay for. And to take it a step further, anecdotally, the majority of trans people I know do not prefer neutral pronouns.

So in short, was this execution poorly handled? Yes, I think so. Was it handled this way for purposes of wokeness? Almost certainly not.

Seems like a pretty easy fix really.

Don't know this for sure. Given the trans backlash against Rowling that they clearly knew was coming, I could see them doing this intentionally. You're probably right that it was just poor execution though.

For everyone who has played, did you use the Felix Felicis Potion at all in your playthrough?

It's one of the pre-order bonuses on Playstation and you can still get the bonus if you buy the game before the PS4 version comes out.

Just curious if the potion is useful throughout the game.

Only when the story forced you to.

I never used any potions unless it made me.
