It runs like shite, but not that shite. Actually, flying on a broom has some of my most consistent frame rates

I spent an unnecessary amount of time trying to collect everything in order to get all trophies other than the other 3 houses reaching the map room trophies.

I’m a completionist even if I’m not really enjoying what I’m doing lol.

The last 2 conjurations needed were in the 2 chests in the 2nd bell tower that is accessed by the frog statue. Opened the first chest and got the item. Opened the second chest and nothing happened. Still showing 139/140 and the chest icon is still showing on the map, but the chest is open and can’t be interacted with anymore.

fricking woof. I've noticed a couple of odd chest bugs, like large chests still showing up as yellow with Rev, but clearly having been opened. I'm not really the completionist type, so I have no idea if I've run into any achievement breaking bugs like that, but I know it's been a very common complaint on the game's subreddit.

Yup. Every other collection is at 100% except for this one. At least now I don’t have to start 3 other play throughs and get to the map room

To revisit this, there was a fairly big performance patch released on Steam a couple of days ago. Still not running perfectly, but it looks like they patched the memory streaming/leaking issues that were causing the massive frame chugging for me down into the teens/20’s. Been playing for about an hour now and haven’t had a single bad frame drop like that.

Eta: played for another hour or two this evening. Still obviously dropping the occasional frame, but still not a single “big chug” like I was experiencing not infrequently before the update. It’s still not perfect, but I would consider this a significant upgrade to performance, and I think if the game had shipped like this, people would have been fairly content with it.

I'm late game and all of a sudden, I've crashed 5 times today. 4 times when porting and just now leaving a cellar in Hogsmead. I've been playing on High settings with Ray Tracing Medium, no shadows with no problem until today.

A few more crashes. Not sure if it is because I am deep into the endgame or if the patch fixed things for some folks but wrecked my game.

I haven’t crashed at all since the update, and I’m lvl 37 post game. Maybe go and verify your game files? Something might have gone slightly wrong during the update, and you’re crashing because the game needs to access a file that isn’t where it’s supposed to be.

Eta: I’m not playing with RT, so that could theoretically be the difference in our experience. I would still verify game files, though.

I don't want to jinx it, by my wife hasn't had any crashes yet at all. She's about 53% through the game.

I've found the game to be reasonably stable overall. I've played for *checks Steam* 89 hours, and I've only crashed a handful of times. And based on when the crashes occurred, I imagine the majority of them were due to a GPU undervolt that had crept up in clock a bit to the point of instability.

Have you tried turning off ray tracing?

I’ve never crashed but it gets to where it runs really slow so I reboot it

I think I haven’t beaten this game yet because it runs so bad

That sounds like a memory leak issue, which they claimed to have fixed in this last patch. Might be worth trying.

Why would I turn something off that worked 90% of the game? I finished the game and had a couple of additional crashes before the end. I think the patch must have glitched something because I had no issues for most of the game until the patch.

Fun game but I think being a Potter fan made me like it more than I would have had I not read the books. This game has as much busy work as the standard Ubisoft game.

I feel like they kinda mailed it in on this one making it some random new story

What people really want is to play as Harry Potter and get to grow and stuff through the course of the books like those game boy games from way back when

I think it’s definitely possible now for them to put all the books into one game but I’m sure it’ll never happen

The story wasn’t great, but I think it was fine. My biggest gripes are the clear cutting of companion, faction, and morality systems. The game was significantly diminished because if it.
