The only reason this is news is because Rowling had been on the war path against trans.

Has she? Or did she simply support a lady who was fired for stating there were two sexes?

No. There was more than that. Look it up.

You can disagree with something and not be a prick about it.

No, there wasn't. She just views sex as mattering more than gender identity, and Letter People lost their goddamn minds that she dare speak her mind and not kneel before them in supplication.

Not my fault he hasn't been paying attention. He can do his own work.

Google ”rowling" and "trans". Not that hard.

Yeah, that's not how the burden of proof is distributed.

Also, you can google just about anything with the right keywords and find what you want to find, reputable or not. That's why "just google it" stopped being a good argument in about 6th grade.

The appropriate response to this thread is somewhere between “okay cool” and not clicking on it at all.

If you Google "does Rowling hate trans", sure. I didn't tell you to do that.

For the record, your search suggestion brings up nothing but beat writers and blog posts full of speculation and opinion pieces. Nothing anywhere near actual news or legitimate reporting. Two of the top 3 sites listed were glamour.com and slate.com
quote:

After reading an article that referred to “people who menstruate,” instead of “women,” Rowling took to Twitter: “?‘People who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?” She added: “If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased.?.?. . I do not believe it’s hateful to say so.”

In a follow-up essay, Rowling elaborated. “?‘Woman’ is not a costume. ‘Woman’ is not an idea in a man’s head.?.?. . The ‘inclusive’ language that calls female people ‘menstruators’ and ‘people with vulvas’ strikes many women as dehumanizing.” Brava.
What a war path. How dare she not be ok with biological women being reduced to "people who menstruate".

As usual, the slightest bit of research brings the ridiculousness of cancel culture to light.

You guys debating the opinion of some old rich British woman's opinion on men who want to cut their dick off and wear mini-skirts is just a whole new level of gaming board sadness.

gender placement for the school dormitories

If there is no such thing as gender, then why does this matter? Should just be "dormitories", right?

whew, I wasn't gonna buy it unless I could make a pre-pubescent child wear a dress that covers her dick. Glad that's settled.
