When VC came out it was a huge breath of fresh air. Ray Liotta as Tommy is the GOAT GTA character. The soundtrack was killer, and the San Andreas as well.

The Vice City soundtrack is unreal. It's definitely what makes this my favorite game of all time. What makes it even better is that you can listen to K-CHAT and VCPR to keep from getting burned out on it.

I was kind of hoping that they'd add more commercials and programming to the radio stations but they really didn't seem to add much of anything to these remasters.

All of the secrecy from Rockstar definitely wasn't because they expected these remasters to blow everyone away. After experiencing a major bug(Sweet's Girl mission) in San Andreas, I ended up back on GTA V today.

I know this remaster is getting shite on and I’m dying at these clips of it, but I really want to buy and play these games again and I'm tempted to do so.

They're not terrible. Vice City looks pretty good. San Andreas has a lot of load screens, looks less impressive, and seems to be full of bugs and glitches. Just going by reviews, GTA 3 seems pretty rough.

It is so hard to give a firm opinion on this. I really want to love these remasters but it's obvious that it was a rush job and Grove Street Games didn't put the time and love into remastering these games that Rockstar put into making them...and Rockstar doesn't seem to care very much anymore either.

I have been playing almost exclusively Vice City. I've noticed some visual glitches here and there, but people would have you believe that this remaster is Cyberpunk 2077 levels of bad, and that's just not the case.

It's a combination of people being butthurt over the removal of licensed music tracks and people who haven't played these games in years realizing that perhaps they haven't aged as well as they would have liked.

I expected to be one of the people bitching about the music but it's really not that noticeable. Some of the songs showing up on lists as not being in the game are in there. I've heard Running With The Night and Video Killed The Radio Star in the remaster.

If they will continue to give this release attention, I still feel like it could be great. Fix the bugs and glitches and maybe even release some DLC every now and then.

I'd happily pay for more music/commercials/talk radio segments to add to the games.

looks like the source code got leaked. might be getting this on PC after all when the mods start to come out.

I gave up on San Andreas because of all of the bugs. They released these games way too early.

The bugs haven’t been all that noticeable to me to be a game killer….until I encountered a mission in San Andreas that I can’t seem to load up without the game crashing. I think it’s the Doberman mission in Los Santos. I go to ammunation for the first time and it crashes every time. Moving on to Vice City I guess

What's hard to understand is why the need to rush the game to release? Why didn't they just keep working on it until the release date for the physical copies, if not longer?

Their reputation is going to take a major hit if they don't give these games the "Definitive" remaster that they deserve, assuming that they ever actually plan on releasing any new games.

I don't think modders can save this since Take 2 is suing them.

I finished Vice City last night. I noticed some little things like flickering lights, and I swear sometimes it was hard to get the game to recognize that you were standing inside of the pink glow thing to buy weapons, progress missions, etc.

It also seems to be harder to get in and out of cars. I seem to remember in the old days being able to flying karate kick dudes off of motorcycles. I've only been able to do that like once.

Was playing San Andreas last night after getting passed a game crash bug (apparently the fix is going into settings and flicking a few options back and forth).

Was riding a motorcyle through the mountains west of Los Santos and had my eye on a bridge to get across a deep ravine....Right as I approach the bridge it disappeared and I drove right over the edge of the cliff. Managed to not die somehow and got up to the other side, and when I looked back the bridge was there again.

The bugs I've encountered have been mostly stuff like this and it's more amusing than anything else. I'm having a blast with these games.

Holidays 2021

You're probably right. But with how many copies of GTA V(and every other GTA game) sold within 24 hrs of release, it'd seem like Dec 7th would have still put a lot of revenue on their books for the holiday season...especially if it was actually ready for release by then.

I feel like, even a company as big as Rockstar, can only get away with pulling something like this so many times. They had already alienated a huge segment of their customer base by lying and ignoring single player DLC for GTA V.

Want to wait a decade between GTA releases? Fine. But at least release some expansion packs or *something* for fans that have no interest in multiplayer.

This was the perfect bone to throw to fans like me. But pulling superior mods to release this shite product has been a major disappointment.

Finding out that the Hot Coffee and unlicensed music files being left in the game(along with developer notes) being the reason behind the PC launch disaster tells a lot about how little time and attention went into these remasters.

Has anyone realized how crazy the AI aim is in open world?

Gang territory fights can get your arse clapped with a quickness. The open world AI doesn't miss.

So…
I’ve never seriously played any of the GTA games.
Should I wait a while for the bugs to get worked out on this one, purchase old physical copies of the games for 360, or find a way to get modded versions of the old game on PC knowing that they were removed from Steam?
