Anyone playing? Bought it on a whim on Steam and I'm hooked.

Interested in it. Not usually my type of game, so I may wait for a price drop. Every time I buy a game on a whim that I am not 100% all in on it doesn’t go well.

Was just watching a stream of Ancestors and it is a really different type of game too. About to take a look at some Greedfall.

Needing something besides the same old hack n slash, shoot n loot, or build a base survival, stuff.

Played up to the first main boss...love it so far. The Story has me intrigued and I dont really follow most stories in video games

It looks like the devs finally put it together and figured out how to make a decent action RPG?

Yeah, reviews say it is rough around the edges but otherwise pretty Dragon Age: Origins-ish

All of their games feel very mid 2000s BioWare-ish just with god awful broken combat.

Reviews say Greedfall is actually pretty easy on the default difficulty, so I may pick this up.

I played for a bit, still haven’t set sail yet. One last side quest to finish.

Not entirely. The review I saw stated it was their best effort to date but the towns were borderline empty. Seems they ran out of time / money before full developing AI / NPCs for the towns. The review was positive. The reviewer just felt the game needed more polish.

As long as I can actually kill the enemies I'm fighting, it's a major improvement.

Wouldn’t say they’re empty, but a lot of assets seemed copy pasted, but I’m still enjoying the game.

Been following this game for a few months, will probably download next week, been craving a new rpg and it was either gonna be this or Outer Worlds. Glad this is getting decent reviews because I prefer swords over guns

Now this game is open world. But it’s not Witcher/Fallout open world. It’s zones. You won’t be able to simply walk around the entire island.

That’s fine by me, keeps me from getting to side tracked/overwhelmed (rdr2)

Just now getting started but running around feels a bit clunky, can be frustrating in small spaces. Combat is great though, very similar to Witcher 3

So this game really isn't that great. People are just dieing for old school BioWare to make a comeback are willing to overlook a lot of crap.

To start, the cities look the same yes, but it doesn't stop there. Every zone looks exactly the same. There's a sizable number of outdoor areas, but you'd be hard pressed to tell any of them apart.

They're all fairly large but also fairly empty. Most of the "?" on the maps are either shrines for skill points or camps for fast travel.

The skills your character can learn, at least if you're melee, are just stat boosts (ie upgraded HP, strength, etc).

Gear and itemization is just frustrating and bizzare. About 10 hours in, I found a chestpiece that was just objectively better than anything else I've seen for the entire rest of the game. Gear as a whole is gated by stat points (ie you need 4 agility to equip this sword).

Most quests are just go here, talk to a guy, leave the area, go to another area, talk to another guy, go to another area, fight, talk to another guy, go back to the original area and talk.

I’m about where you’re at, just got to the San mahean village or whatever it’s called. I kinda agree, you can’t enter any of the buildings in the villages except a couple houses and they all have the same layout. The warehouses that are guarded by different factions that are in every area are getting old, and the coin guard barracks in every area have 100 rooms that are tedious to go through and they never have anything in them. I’m still enjoying the combat though and am going to keep playing to see where the story goes. Hopefully it lets me stear it to where I can play the factions against each other and put my own faction in a position to take everything over because that what I want to do.

Did you attempt the first contract against that big monster that’s similar to the first boss? I tried a few times and got my arse kicked. Trying to figure out if I suck or if I’m just under powered right now lol. I do like the contract aspect, like Witcher 3. Hoping they don’t all look the same though because like I said this first one looks exactly like the first boss just smaller

Side note: i do like how your weapon/armor doesn’t get damaged or break. That’s always such a pain in the arse aspect in rpgs

Was just about to give up on it and wait on outer worlds after getting to a new area and the Faction’s palace was an exact copy and paste as the last one and I had to do another side quest consisting of running way the frick to talk to somebody then running way the frick back, but then I got to a pretty sweet battle in the main story line. Going to stick it out for now
