2. frick off with the hints, so what if I’m in the wrong stance and I know to hold triangle for a standoff dammit get rid of that prompt

100%

even on hard mode, the game is easy enough to where you dont even have to bother with half the shite. i barely use ghost weapons anymore bc they're so OP. stances help but beating triangle for each enemy type gets old

i hate "checklist gameplay" but this game nails it. one of my favorites this year for sure

I love open world games because I can do only one main story mission and spend 3 hours playing because of all the side missions.

I was just waiting more for user reviews and this thread has delivered

Nice in progress review that convinced me to buy this game.

I'm only like 4-5 hours in and playing on hard, but absolutely loving it so far! Beautiful game.

I'm working on ranking up to gain more techniques and upgrade my gear, but will slow down and explore for a long while. I've only completed the first two main tale missions and went after the long bow like you suggested... Got my arse kicked so thanks for that

I’m just getting ready to finish Act 2. I’ve been exploring and collecting everything I can before going to the next map.

I love this game. Completely immersed. I haven’t been this drawn in to a game since The Witcher 3. Going into a Mongol stronghold and going ham, mixing styles and switching stances/strategies is so much fun. The duels never get old, even with the unskippable cutscenes. I’ve taken so many screenshots The wind mechanic works so well to keep icons off the map and give it that clean, almost Breath of the Wild-like clean world view.

Easily GOTY and one I’ll be playing over and over.

I'm enjoying the game, but I do find it a bit repetitive. Every mission thus far is, go talk to a guy, follow him until you get to a spot, murder all the mongols, rinse/repeat.

I can't get into the way the story is told. Just two characters standing still spouting exposition without any facial expression whatsoever.

I enjoy the combat a lot, but it is much better when fighting smaller groups of enemies than large groups.

The open world looks pretty, but it's very empty. There's virtually nothing going on outside of the little towns and outposts, but even inside of those, there's only like 4-5 NPCs roaming around.

nothing you wrote up above is wrong. but im still loving it told a buddy the other day, i would hate this game in any other setting. i've never seen a game whose setting and presentation pardon so many aspects I would normally take issue with. still one of the better games ive played this year

Similar to my feelings about HZD. Animations are crappy; most side quests are fetch repetitives and human encampments Aloy had to clear out were pitiful, but that setting and gameplay against machines was sublime.

I appreciate straight forward dialogue and no-bs NPC conversations. You get your quest and go.

Horizon had the worst sidequests and NPC voice acting ever, but god the main story was original and aweesome. i really wasnt feeling the game at ALL until I started doing main story missions and then it just clicked.
