Last platform I owned was a Xbox 360. Internet speed is...

What platform would be the best currently. Pros and cons between Xbox and PS5?

With every device from PC to meta quests to smart tvs able to use Xbox game pass, it’s something to consider if you are going to lock yourself to an Xbox.

Since you havent gamed in years you would probably really get a lot out of a Xbox Game Pass subscription.

I own an Xbox Series S and a PS5. I love both. However…

I’ve gotten more out of my Xbox simply because of GamePass. I’ve always been a Sony and PlayStation guy and have never owned an Xbox before but I’ve been playing it way more. But I think it ultimately will come down to what your preference will be. PS5 will have more exclusive titles like Spider Man 2, God of War, etc. and those are must plays but the “must plays” for PlayStation are much less common than they were for PS4. There just simply aren’t enough exclusive titles to justify the price tag for the PS5 for me personally. So if it were me and I didn’t care about the exclusives, I’d go Xbox for sure because right now, outside of a handful of titles, you can play everything the PS5 offers and a lot of past games you might have missed

It's hard to beat Xbox Game Pass, especially if you haven't had a system since the 360 era.

I'm getting a Series S because of EA CFB since it's not on PC and I couldn't justify a Series S or PS5 for 1 game.

I have a PS5 and Xbox Series X. They are both great. But to echo everyone. Game pass will be a lot of value for you.

Also the asymmetrical nature of the Xbox controller is better and more natural despite the Sony controller being packed with neat features (that aren’t used by most devs)

Whatever you do. Buy Elden Ring and come back to gaming with an all time great game. I had been away from gaming for 7 years. Elden Ring makes me game like a kid again.

That's largely subjective. Sure, the human hand prefers the left thumb up high. But some people actually find Xbox controllers painful. I've always enjoyed Xbox controllers over PS. And I grew up with a OG Xbox, 360, and a PS2. But I can swap between a Xbox and PS controller no issue. It's not that big of a deal.

if you are interested in playing and trying out a lot of games, get an xbone and their game pass for xbone or xbone/pc

you get day 1 games, and a lot of games to play. its great for people who want to play and try a lot of games.

Looking at getting the xbox x with the game pass. For those that have it, how often do you find yourself having to delete old games to create room for new downloads?

Anytime I finish a game pass game I delete it from my hard drive.

For games that I own, I have an external hard drive where I keep all of the saved information. I move that information back and forth between the internal and external drives when I want to play that game.

I got the external drive so I could save all of the games with gold games they used to give away each month in case any of the games were ever delisted in the future, so I have an 8TB external drive and it is more than enough. I had a 4TB drive in the XBone days and it was getting to be full. Now that they are no longer giving out free games each month I don't see how I could need more space than what I have now.

I'd recommend maybe a 4TB drive if you're going to be storing lots of games but I honestly don't see the purpose in storing Game Pass games. If a game ever leaves Game Pass you would need to purchase the game to keep playing it.
