Gears of War E-Day

Beat it.

The bad:

Story is dogshit. Marcus and Dom are effectively supporting cast. Story focuses on gross-looking lesbian Mags more than anyone else. Even have her gay trauma backstory to trudge through.

Dom and Marcus feel less like hard-core battle bros. . .more like Insomniac "yearning"

Every leader is a woman except 1. . .a white male. . .who, of course, is an evil genocidal lunatic.

They got rid of melee duels.

You can beat almost every boss almost without shooting at all


The good:

Visually it is incredible. Best it has ever looked, by far.

Gunplay is fine. About the same as 5, not as good as 3.

Dom is still alive (prequel), but he talks about his feelings a lot.

If there was no story at all, and you just went from battle to battle, this would be an 8 or 9/10

But this is a 6/10 due to "millennial writer fatigue"

Better than Wolverine, about the same as Gears 5 everywhere else. . .but you do get the sense it wants you to think it is trying to be more like Gears 3.

I realized this with gamepass, i would look thru the list for games to try, and end up going back to skyrim or another older game.
