Here is a great keyboard on sale. It's refurb though if that bothers you.

I have the Logitech Pro already. What ears you go with?

Newegg has one of the best PC building videos (with Paul).
It's the video most of use here used to build a PC

The first time I built one I didn't think I needed a CPU cooler since I wasn't overclocking.
Posted on 7/31/18 at 1:13 am to Korin
I got it turned on but the display won't register.
Made sure the 24 pin is connected
CPU 8 pin is seated
Cooler is on
Ram is in 2 and 4
Tried 1 RAM
Tried different monitors
Tried different CPU power cables
Maybe the RAM isn't seated perfectly?

Make sure the CPU cooler is all the way attached, I had the same problem when I built mine. I didn't push the cooler capture pins all the way in and turn them.

Mine is a AIO cooler and I hand tightened it all the way down. I'll check that once I get home though.

Let me make sure that I have all of the cables that I need for the PSU and powered everything.
8 (4+4) pin CPU with the split end on the MOBO.
24 pin mobo
2 8 pin (6+2) VGA cables for the graphics card with split end on GPU
SATA cable for HDD (Other is a M.2 SSD)
All of the case head leads are connected and work
Fans work and I felt the hose and the pump is working
MOBO and GPU turn on

What CPU do you have? Remove the GPU, and connect to your monitor using the integrated GPU on your CPU.
Did you try swapping RAM modules in the slots (and double check that you are using the correct slots)?
Which mobo is this?

I've tried 1 and 3, 2 and 4 (default), 1 only.

Have you tried just 1 slot, with both RAM sticks?
This may sound really dumb, but are you sure you seated the CPU correctly?
With Intel CPUs, you are just supposed to "set" the CPU in the socket while aligning with the triangle, without applying force, then close the latch.
EDIT: I guess along those same lines, did you inspect the socket for any bent pins?

I tried one slot with only one stick. Might have tried both, it was a frustrating time.

No force and the new socket has notches that only go one way and I looked in the MOBO instructions as to where I need to put the gold arrow.

I didn't check bent pins.

Disconnect your GPU, HDD, and SSD.
I would inspect the socket, make sure there are no bent pins. Reinstall the cooler, then put just 1 RAM stick, and try to boot into the BIOS using the 8700k integrated GPU.
If you can do that, then reinstert your GPU into the PCIE slot, then try to get into the BIOS.
If that works, then reattach your HDD and SSD.
Basically, you want to try to debug your parts 1 by 1 until you find the issue.
EDIT: Another really simple (but more common mistake than you think) is for the 24 pin cable to not be seated on the mobo all the way. Check that.

You would think they would develop better ways to seat these connections....

while at work, Download the latest bios for your MB to a usb drive.
If it boots to bios stripped down, you can perform the update to bios before trying to add components back.

Got it. Just had to plug into GPU. Mobo wouldn't work.
