There were two 512gb sata SSDs for $130 yesterday on Newegg. Pretty sweet deal

I saw those but they had pretty low read/write speeds.

I'd rather get a 500GB NVME SSD for 150.
So a Raid 0 would be double the effective speed but halving the storage and be able to lose both drives in failure?

Essentially, but you don't really want to raid unless you're dealing with a large sum of drives for a server tbh
It can be more of a hassle, and it'll actually slow your boot time down a good bit

That Alienware monitor is gorgeous. It went back up to 450
Got my EVGA stuff too. Everything else but the CPU comes in tomorrow.

Have you bought anything?
Posted on 7/27/18 at 2:37 pm to Hu_Flung_Pu
I’m struggling. I bought a PSU from BH yesterday. I’m so far out though. I’m trying to be disciplined and stick to my plan with spreading out the purchases. My squad is going to be ready to go long before me.
I’ve got a mobo and PSU.
Microcenter has the i7 8700k for $299. I may be heading to BB for price match later today.
Baby steps. More like crawling.

What kind of cooler are you looking at for that 8700K?

Either Noctua D15 or 15s. Leaning towards 15s
Posted on 7/27/18 at 11:22 pm to LSUmakemewanna
are you using pc parts picker?
Posted on 7/27/18 at 11:41 pm to Hu_Flung_Pu
I check a bunch of different sites. Though, I frequent PCpartpicker. I did pick up the 8700k at BB for Microcenters price.
