How much of a difference is the CAS rating going to be in effective speed?
I'm looking at a G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3000 CAS 16 and a Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3000 CAS 15. About a $20 difference.
I website I saw said that a 3200 CAS 16 is about the speed of a 3000 CAS 14.
Not much.
RGB though?

Hoky shite you got hosed. You can buy better laptops for cheaper then that
I don't have to build it. Yes I could get parts cheaper. I've built 3. I can barely game on mine. Games are crashing. Think My gpu is going out. This was quick and easy. Ive seen a couple of these guys pcs. They do good work, have excellent support, and a lifetime warranty on desktops.
I'm ok with them making thier money.

AMD FX 6100 6 core @ 3.3Ghz
16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1866
Radeon HD 6870 - 1GB, GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0
250 GB Western Digital Velociraptor SATA 6Gb/s
RaidMax Smilodon Case
Some cheap SATA CD/DVD burner

I can understand the time versus money aspect, but next time you upgrade I'd suggest taking a look at Digital storm instead of that company you used, they won't hose you on the build quite so badly. You could have gotten an i7-8700 and 1080 for basically the same price. You'd still pay a couple hundred buck premium for having them build it, but at least it wouldn't be the 700ish buck premium you paid.

A 5 second search on Amazon would had revealed how dumb his purchase was

They charged like 150 for a 2TB Seagate barracuda.

Not to mention i go through a power supply ever year and a half. We smoke in my house and have 5 large inside/outside dogs. Dust is bad in my house.
They will hate giving me a lifetime warranty.

This is the exact same build I have from D.S. It is like 1800+
I linked you a build on DS's site that was 1799 and was tremendously better than your build (1080 vid card, i7 8700 Instead of the inferior parts on your build). The fact you managed to use a config on the site to make a worse system cost 2200 is impressive I guess (in a bad way).
Lifetime warranties mean nothing for computers given they will be obsolete or really ineffective for gaming purposes within 4 years pretty much.

I saw what you did. You added priority which is like $400 and you added the highest warranty. Fact is man, you paid a premium when you didn't have to but if you are comfortable with it, so be it. Each of the PC's components probably has a warranty that covers pretty much the life cycle of a good build (~4 years).
Intel and EVGA both do a 3 year warranty. Those are the most expensive parts. You can just ship in what needs warrantied instead of the whole computer.

Yall dont have to question my intelligence over a pc build.
Yes I got priority build and free shipping thrown in. Comparing apples to apples.
Im sorry i didnt see your digital storm build before i bought my pc...
As far as being superior...only the 1080 is better than what i ordered.
I'll take the i5 8600k oc'd over the i7 8700. Notice I got water cooling.
I got 16 GB of 3200 ram vs 8gb of 3000.
I got a 500 GB sdd vs a 240 GB SSD.
I got a beefier power supply. Again I go through one every year and a half. Ill have this pc 5-7 years.
Yes, i would love to get a 1080. Damn my stupidity.
The DS build would get better fps than my build. Apples to apples Xidax is not much different than ds.
Yall can say I'm not bright, but I am A+ certified. Ive got an AAS in IT and have 15 years of experience in tech support.

Baw do you not know how to use a screwdriver?
Posted on 7/23/18 at 8:47 am to 50_Tiger
I have wired up complete buildings during construction. I can use a screw driver and a drill.

I guess you missed where I said I had built my previous 3.
I work too damn much. I spend 50 hours a week working on computers, printers, network equipment, wiring, security systems... I dont enjoy it anymore.

Dude the hardest part is the mounting the back plate for a water cooling solution.
Everything else is either a slot/plug/or screw.
You could have even bought a Nvme drive if you didn't want to deal with the extra SATA connection.
Your power connections are literally the 8P (6+2) to the video card, the 20+4P to the motherboard, 8P to the CPU, and whatever fan molex/sata powered HDD you have.
I can build actual EUTRAN systems in less than 2 hours and you are trying to tell me it will take you longer than that if you built a PC yourself possibly?
