Truth.

It will change they are changing policies per rumors or it will force their hand.

The rates should change. This is not the argument.

Yup. God forbid there is competition in the industry.

The horror should Steam or a competitor get better from the competition and improve immensely in the future.

It's not competition, though, that most of the PC users here are complaining about, which it appears some of you are too dumb to understand.

We don't want launcher exclusives. Already, we have to have Steam, Origin, Epic, UPlay, and Battle.net, that doesn't even include other launchers like GOG.

Just imagine if the consolers had to switch through so many launchers. Keep them updated, manage friends all that stupid trivial shtt. It's a terrible experience. It's not crying we are just telling you it is shtt.

Idk why this is hard to understand "yeah they are silly".

I'm not going to get dick shoved down my throat and forced to do anything. That is the message from devs and Epic to THEIR client base. Without Fornite which will one day die they are nothing.

If I want to play a game, I'll download the launcher and play the game.

I don't care about my friends list. I don't care about the "community" of Steam. I don't care about the achievements. I don't care about the user scores.

I don't care about any of that stuff either, but I hate having to go through 5 different launchers to play a game. If you don't turn off the overlays and hide all messages, it becomes an annoying clusterfrick when trying to use a different launcher

Hell, Microsoft is at least moving the needle in the right direction by putting their own IP on multiple launchers

And that's where you guys lose me.

I'll happily go through a minor inconvenience to give the developers of a game that I enjoy more profit per sale.

Again.

Yes I want this too. But it is silly.

Steam is out fault yes but the issue is exclusiveness and the attitude being taken by Epic and some devs. Deftones Tone Def of the PC community and how we use the systems/solutions overall.

Lol right, like when I found out this was a thing I just downloaded the other launcher for the game I wanted and did it.

I mean sure, it isn’t the most convenient thing in the world, but I have never even considered bringing it up as an actual Complaint.

I do care about cloud saves. Does the Epic store have that?

Community reviews and game-specific forums are also hugely beneficial.

Cloud saves are a legitimate issue with Epic however that is y'all's smoking gun. Although my Fortnite account is synced through every platform.

Friends list can be achieved through discord so only one app now.

Achievements? Really? How old are you? (not specifically to the person I'm replying to)

Exclusive games are no where near consoles. You can play on PC and not on consoles. I literally could not play God of war because I had an Xbox. I could just go to the other launcher is I needed to on PC.

The exclusive to the launcher is the same argument as just going to another launcher to the consumer. It's a promotion to the developer to use their launcher.

Most of the time I don't even deal with launchers. All my games have shortcuts. If I want league of legends, I'll just click the shortcut for it. Fortnite is the same thing.

Specific forums can be on Reddit or somewhere else. Reviews are for smaller games. Just youtube the game from your favorite reviewer.

Many of y'all don't understand the argument you are whining about.

You're also ignoring the whole spyware thing.

I don't care about my friends list on Steam, but you shouldn't assume everyone wants to download Discord.

We like to keep our games in [largely] the same place. One of the biggest annoyances of PC gaming pre-steam was having to keep track of all the disk-based media then having a myriad of desktop icons spread out across my screen.

With Steam, I've got all my games in one place. I can just tell Steam to start downloading a game then it downloads and installs for me all in one step.

I don't even mind services like GoG that cater to a particular niche or even developers who release their games via their own launchers (Bethesda, Blizzard), but it's starting to get to a level of needing to have at least 4 or 5 launchers installed and running on your PC just to have access to your full library (UPlay, Origin, Steam, Battle.net, Bethesda, Epic Games Store, GoG).

For the Epic Games store in particular, I am forced to use an objectively inferior service for games that really aren't all that different from what I already have in my Steam library. Not to mention that fact that almost all of these games that are exclusive to the Epic Store either had a Steam page at one point in time or flat out advertised they were coming to Steam only to abandon the idea once Epic waved cash in their face.

Imagine the melt if Cyberpunk comes out as an exclusive.

Nothing that CDPR had done leads me to think it will.

As others have said, I don't necessarily mind other launchers being available but I hate the exclusivity. I already have Blizzard, GoG, Bethesda, Origin, and Steam. Blizzard and Bethesda are for one game. I only have GoG because I got Witcher 3 key for it when I bought my old 980. I rarely use Origin.

It just sucks because they just take up space and on the rare occasion I want to play a game on those, I usually have to update and crap. Not to mention the security issues with Epic. I get why it's happening and all, but I still don't like it.
