Really excited about the career mode and most of all being able to actually land, get out and walk around in the world with your custom avatar.

I installed and booted it up, only to not be let in the game. Seems the servers are currently on fire. A lot of people are mad, but luckily I can take it or leave it, so I'll try again in a few days.

played long enough to set up my person on X, then got put into a queue to fly ..
loaded on PC and never got past the actual load in screen..
Been wanting to play since they added "things to do" but this one will be around for a while, so ill circle back

Installed and played career mode for a few hours last night. Got my PPL and took a few people in first flights. It’s a blast. I can’t wait to see how much better it gets when the servers aren’t getting torched.
I need to get a joystick that can connect to my Xbox.
FYI, I got in by restarting the game every 60 seconds. Took around 10 minutes of doing that and I got in.

Just FYI, for anyone wanting to play this on a stick, mine (an older version of literally the one MSOFT dropped yesterday branded FOR THIS GAME) does not work...
I'm seeing a TON of people having the same issue with almost all brands on many different platforms...Controls are inverted and some of them you cant even find to fix

Only thing that sucks for me is that I have probably about $350 sunk into fighter jets from the original game

I think they will come over eventually but they aren’t available right now. I could be wrong though.
Got my Commercial Certification tonight and the first commercial mission I had was taking a dude’s plane back to him from having maintenance performed on it. Took off from a beautiful grass strip in Germany and it was an awesome flight.
Right up until I came in way too hot trying to land on this dude’s private airstrip and ran off the end of it into some trees. I restarted the mission so my rep didn’t take a hit

i've been on the fence on flight sim for years. Is Career Mode fleshed out enough?

I am enjoying it. They could definitely work on the AI characters and conversations they have in the plane but outside of that, the game mode has been a blast for me.
The servers are getting better but they are still running a tad bit slow so the streaming they do to update the world as you play lags being right now. So you get the occasional blurry graphics.
I would try it out on Gamepass before purchasing.

Yes.
At the start of the game, only the f-18 and the a-10 are available, as far as fighter jets go
