I could easily see this playing out.
This is just a guess. If this guess is accurate then SPOILERS!!!
The shadow people or guardian of fate or whatever they are called will open up the possibility of saving Aerith from death. You will get to have her much longer in this game and go through similar parts of the story with her...only to be reminded at some point...likely the end that she can’t escape fate and when we think she’s saved...dead again.
Just a guess but I’d be totally okay with that scenario playing out.

I've seen that the main story takes about 20 hours, but the side quests make it over 50.

Majority of people are finishing in the 35 hour range with doing everything. 50 seems pretty extreme.

With the side quests bring the total hours up to 50 then it should take me a couple months to make my way through it.
Called my GameStop and they will have my preorder ready on Friday.

A lot of the time is spent traveling between Sectors 5 and 6.
They made it "to scale" to show how truly massive Midgar is (basically 4 times the size of the Houston Metro Area)

Made it onto the train after escaping guards before I saved and turned off because I have to he at work at 6am 
Went in dry. Played the original but not since about '99. Haven't watched any spoilers, didn't play the demo. Not disappointed at all.
Seph already drummed up memories of old hate. Couple wrinkles that maybe I just don't recall but might be new. Have combat set on classic mode right now and still surprised with player control considering I thought classic would be more of a turn-based/ATB.
Character and environment detail is beautiful. Impressed so far.

Tapping out until tomorrow well today since it’s 5am made it to mission 4 while doing all side quests and collectibles up to this point. BTW the darts mini game in mission 3 pissed me off until I learned how to control the reticule. I drank way too much tonight to do something so precise.

I’m stoked...mostly because my gf will be playing the frick out of this game and off my arse about playing so much warzone haha.
Im excited to see what they change story-wise. I know only a handful of us are. It gives me a bit of something to look forward to.
