Yuffie DLC is worth it? Good to hear all that. The combat in Rebirth kind of irked me when you tried casting a spell but got interrupted yet you still used MP

Yuffie DLC isn’t just “worth it” it’s extremely high quality with fun mini games, great combat since Yuffie is arguably the most fun to control whole setting you up to be ready to use her in rebirth and introducing you to an extremely
Rudimentary version of the synergy mechanic which becomes massively fleshed out and very critical to success in rebirth via her partner Sonan who you can’t control manually in the dlc.

All while merely being a very digestible run time of 5-7 hours

The cast interrupts in theory are still a thing in rebirth and can very rarely happen but it’s not near the issue it has in remake

I don't remember what I paid but I finished it in 1 sitting I'm pretty sure.

The combat was cool and different too

It’s very very good DLC exceptionally polished. It did piss me off they tried to sell a Yuffie cactuar weapon for like 14.99 on launch and it remains 9.99 on ps store to this day

Awesome. Probably save it for July since that month is pretty bare (outside NCAA) but I may hire before

EA Sports College Football is putting everything on the back burner for me

Fair enough and me too. Was looking to play something when I’m taking breaks from EA CFB but went with Remnant 2.

Think I’m going to save FF7 Rebirth for the PS5 Pro considering how big of a game it is and that there will be an eventual third

I don’t know if the pro would make that much of a difference but it may. What I do know is that the game still looks and runs fine on performance mode.

I just picked this back up to finish the game. I had two chapters left before stellar blade came out and then a couple other games I got sucked into.

I’ll likely finish it this weekend with around 110 hours put into it.

If you got plenty of other games to keep you occupied before the pro comes out then I’d just wait. But if you find yourself wanting to jump into an awesome time sink then go ahead and pick it up.

No reason it shouldn’t win GoTY.

I finally started to play this after putting it off for 2 years. It has its moments, but damn it's also extremely frustrating. The combat system was designed by absolute morons, I'd rather it be turn based. The worst part is the character engagement, I feel nothing toward the certain character that's gonna get taken away soon, like nothing at all. That was the whole point of the original, make you like something then take it away, that's why it hit so well as a kid.

This is just soulless. 6/10 for me. Playing this after death stranding 2 shows what an absolute massive letdown it is. A game called "walking simulator" is superior in every way, that is not a good sign.

It embodies everything wrong with modern development at Square Enix. It is so unbelievably disrespectful of the player's time. Every dungeon is excruciatingly long, especially the last few (Temple of the Ancients was horrible). So much anime bullshite and ridiculous plot convolution. So many forced walking/crawling segments. So many "Hold L2+R2 5x" moments. Slows you down if you leave a scripted path you're supposed to take. Tons of open world padding. It's a painful exercise in tedium and shameless bloating

Agree, agree, agree.

I'm like 70 hours in, for 70 hours this should conclude the whole game. It's soooooo looooong but yet manages to accomplish so little.

Wow, this is so spot on. I felt bad that I quit playing it 6 months ago or so, but I just could not get into it. Got to the Casino/ThemePark or whatever area and just couldn't play anymore.

This is actually one of the few things they really nailed. You stopped at a good point though because the most shameless of the padding comes after it.

It's particularly annoying to me because if they took this combat system and dropped it into a well-paced 50-60hr experience with more quality and less quantity, it could've been a really great game. Instead they fastened a 500ton anchor to it and yeeted it into the ocean. By the time people get to Cosmo Canyon, they're ready to be done....but you've still got at LEAST 25 hours left lmao

I love rebirth to death but I dread ever replaying it.

It’s. Just. Too. Much

Disagree, having to melee attack people so you can cast spells is stupid. I don't like it, would rather it just be turn based.
