On another note they may have been so occupied recently (or one of their 4 registration sites dropped the ball) that they did not e-mail out my game code. I did find it on findmyorder.com, but went back through my CC statements and notice I am free rolling

The other option is to play on Japanese servers til transfer.. but yeah, game is really fun, you should try it out.

The current issue seems to be more about lack of space and to keep the servers from crashing they are allowing a cap of players per server. This in itself is not really the problem; the lack of a viable que system and no removal of afk players is where it gets frustrating. In their defense, the game has played awesome since beta 3 outside of the duty finder being I little borked lately.

Originally the transfers were not going to be free, but since they've had all of this server trouble it wouldn't surprise me if they let you transfer for free or at a reduced rate.
Also, I bet we get another week or two of free time until they sort the server stuff out. These guys have put to much into this game and built up so much good will that I don't think they want to lose it over them not being able to predict the demand for the game.

I've transferred servers twice in this game and haven't had to pay anything.

One of the guys from giant bomb played 14 this weekend, and he has a friend who works in server hosting, and now that he has seen that side of it, it's no surprise that this happens with every MMO launch. Long and short of it, you can blow your entire budget by setting up enough servers to deal with capacity, because a) you're not sure what you'll need and if you over shoot it, you've wasted a whole lot of money, and b) you'll never have the capacity that you have around the launch, because EVERYONE is trying to get on. After a while, it's easier to manage.

Those are in game letters that you can check from a delivery moogle in any sanctuary or city, it's probably your preorder bonuses

So just went through the whole character creation and it says Unable to obtain world list" on the NA EU side, but JP loads fine, wtf??
