Just finished the story part of the demo, combat is fun, think it'll really open up as the game continues. Graphics are good, runs pretty good, got a little chug during some of the kaiju battles on graphics mode but not bad. Overall remain super hyped for release

Now to try out the combat arena part of the demo

Wasn’t going to play the demo to avoid spoilers but I see you can carry over your saved progress so might check it out

Just finished. Yall need to play this ASAP.

As someone who wasn't even thinking about getting this game, I'm now 100% buying it. It's basically the opposite of everything SquareEnix has been doing for the past 15 years. The combat system is insanely satisfying (precision dodges feel amazing lol), the writing is dark and mature, the characterization is excellent, voice acting was great. Pure spectacle and really really fun. Going from this back to FFVIIR's combat system for Rebirth is going to feel like going from Shakespeare to Dr Seuss

Only complaints - the demo runs like shite. I was playing on Performance mode and I swear I was hitting high 30s low 40s in the more intensive sections. And the motion blur is god awful, just like FFVIIR's. Really hope they let us disable it. Hope these are resolved in the release build.

Had a fantastic time, can't wait for full release.

Yes, it appears that the demo is just the first 2 hours of the story, so you can pick up right where you left off when you get the full game.

There's a second part of the demo that opens up once you beat the main part. It's called Eikonic Challenge and takes place later in the story in a dungeon after you've unlocked many more abilities and eikons. I elected not to play it since I want to avoid spoilers and I was plenty convinced

I got FFXV at release, played it for an hour, and never turned it on again. Said that FF was history and that I wouldn't get another one

This is worlds better

I thought the same thing. The graphics mode is capped at 30 fps, but it doesn't feel like a "good" 30 fps. Clive also feels extremely jittery to control. Needs more weight.

I finished the demo. It did not exactly blow me away. Need to get out of the prologue before I pass real judgement.

Performance was not great. Framerate mode reminded me of Jedi Survivor. I tried graphics mode which is capped at 30 FPS. From what I can tell, the FPS drops are less noticeable, but it is not a smooth 30 FPS in the way that some games are.

What stood out to me the most was Clive just doesn't feel all that great to control. It's hard to put in to words, but it's like he is floating above the ground and is completely separate from the world around him. He is too jittery and needs some weight added to his movements so he isn't darting all over the screen.

I just finished and I need more. I didn’t like how chaotic the fight at the end was nor how bad the motion blur is but I liked the combat more than I thought I would and I’m very intrigued with the story so far. I had already preordered but I wasn’t pumped. Now I’m pumped.

About motion blur. Why do developers think that anybody likes it? Just stop.

It's crazy dude Literally the first thing that everyone turns off. Square's is particularly terrible, in FFVII it was unbearable with the 30fps

Just finished the story part or whatever.

Loved it.

Little janky at times was my only complaint. Maybe it can be patched a bit but I know they said they won’t have a day 1. I’d be curious now if that changes after the demo is out.

Summon fights were a spectacle and highly enjoyable.

Characters and the voice acting 10/10 so far.

Game is beautiful.

Writing is great. Love the gore and the fricks.

Just a cocktease of 2 hours. So much to unpack already.

Just played the demo. I didn’t need to be sold on it because I already preordered it, but yeah, loved it.

someone said that the demo build is 1.1 and the release version will be 1.3. So I imagine it will be markedly better

Just saw that also. Gives me some hope. Doubt I care that much anyways.

Pretty blown away and I had very high expectations.

Finished the demo a bit ago. I played it on Graphics mode (which is locked at 30 fps afaik) so I didn't notice any slowdowns or performance issues. I feel like I have a high tolerance for motion blur though, but I'll still probably disable if I can.

Overall, thought it was all very impressive. I think the overall reception has been very positive.

Just curious, why aren't all games at least 60fps in this day and age?

Edit: I see that performance mode is supposed to be 60fps.
