Just finished the boss battle against John Seed. I'm a conservative Christian who had no problem with the premise of this game. But upon completing the boss battle, of course the guy has to mention the world is on the brink of destruction and says "look who's in charge," obviously a reference and attack on President Trump.

They can portray God in an awful light, but screw them if they bad mouth my president?

This post makes no sense. God is not portrayed at all in this game. The villains are cultists who believe they're doing God's will, but they're idolators and murderers. Try again.

Not the place to discuss basic Christianity, so sure, stay angry. I'm sure daddy trump appreciates your passion.

The cult has Bible verses scrawled on the walls in the opening scenes

Parm is trying to say you don't see an actual physical representation of God.

You know, how a child would argue.

So, the crazy right wing religious fanatic is anti-trump? You sure he was referencing Obama?

So you would have preferred the cult leader praise Trump?

Yep. For a game that is going for full immersion, pretty lazy oversight iyam.

I haven’t played the game and this post has really no bearing on the religious/political discussion here, but I hear that there is no open world, free roaming in the game. Is that true? That would probably keep me from buying it. Free roaming is kind of intrinsic to Far Cry.

If it was intended as a dig at Trump, John Seed shouldn’t have been the one to deliver that line.

If I were to write an sjw appropriate line, i would have had John die arrogantly. Maybe mention that their ideology is infecting society at large, even the White House.

The more I play this game, the less I believe they tried to inject too much subtext into this game. It seems like a pretty straightforward police good, cults bad type of narrative.

It's open world but there is a lot of involuntary events that force the main story onto you, like consistently being captured despite me being in a position where it should not have happened.

That's not associated with you being on a main story quest? Open world, run around and do dumb shite, those are staples of Far Cry games. I'm sure there are scripted moments involved with the quests, but you should still be able to wander aimlessly.
