Fallout: New Vegas is the GOAT Fallout game.

Change my mind (you can't).
The story, the characters, the factions, the choices you make, the various endings, the quests not being complete BS fetch quests, the dialogue, etc. It's a Grade A quality game. Any faults it has is 100% attributed to Bethesda, not Obsidian.

Best story by a pretty large margin, but I think DC and Boston are better locations.
They did an awesome job showing off the NCR ranger armor. My main focus was getting that.
I'd buy the shite out of NV and 3 remasters.

Bethesda handed them assets and let them know some basic ground rules, and that was all of their involvement.

3 didn't seem to have any more or less of them than NV. It seems this is a placeholder Carson complaint when people don't like an open world game, because every one of them has what you could categorize as a "fetch quest".
That being said...
...you just wait.

Don't talk bad about Sic's Todd Howard.

I like both of them, but I've actually finished 3. I tried to play NV recently and it made me appreciate the gameplay improvements they made in 4.
I would play the crap out of NV if they were to do a remaster with the 4 engine.

Agreed. I love New Vegas, much better than 3 and 4.
I normally don't care about story, but every choice you made had a huge impact on New Vegas' story. There wasn't a right or wrong choice.

Uh, Bethesda rushed them and treated them like shite. Same thing Rockstar did to Team Bondi. Then Bethesda’s ego was permanently bruised when they realized Obsidian still produced a far superior game with an IP they (Bethesda) own better than they ever could. And despite fans clamoring for a New Vegas 2 or another Obdisidian made game, we got Fallout 76....
They didn’t learn from BioWare. We wanted KOTOR 3, instead we got an MMO... yay (sarcasm)

From everything I've read, Obsidian has a track record of not meeting deadlines. Lucas Arts had the same issues with KOTOR 2, and Atari with Neverwinter Nights 2. Seems like if it seems that they were rushed, was probably for good reason.
ETA They had 18 months to build on existing assets. It's not like they were looking down the barrel of a gun. Maybe they got it together now, but it sounds like Obsidian isn't managed all that great.

The main issue is all the bugs. getting stuck in never ending loading screens was annoying. One thing it doesn't get credit for is the companions and the way they did perks. You had to have your companion with you to have their perk, unlike FO4 where you can keep it forever. It forced you to be more tactical with who you brought with you. Also I liked the companion quests and wish they had more of them. Taking Boone to that Legion camp and watching him go full blown beast mode was awesome.

Fallout 3 was the first one played in the series because I only ventured over there from my love of The Elder Scrolls. I liked it okay, but could never get fully immersed in it. It just didn't end up being all that I thought it would be.
But to the original point, yes I enjoyed New Vegas better than 3 & 4. Something about just seemed more fun. None of the three games I played in the series I thought were bad though. But I did have higher expectations for 4 when it came out because of my experience with New Vegas. I know NV wasn't really Bethesda made, but I thought they would have learned something from Obsidian. Far Harbor was a nice addition though.

I brought Boone everywhere except for that camp.

I absolutely loved NV, put in a lot of fricking hours into that game and the only reason I quit playing, I just burnt out. Now that I made the jump to pc, I’m going to download the game again.

Ditto, except for completing the NPC-based quests.
New Vegas is my favorite game ever. I've got 4 or 5 playthroughs of 80+ hours each. I've mixed up my major decisions a bit, but I've never ended up working for Ceasar. I don't think that I've ever worked for that boomer prison gang either. So there's a ton missions that I've never played, and this thread is giving me the itch. I think I'll hold off until the previously-linked FO4 mod.

Fallout 1 and 2 are better than any of the Elder Scrolls: Fallout products.
Hell, Wasteland 2 is better.
There - I said it.

I used Raul and Arcade a lot. Raul's perk was really good plus he did good damage with his .45 pistol.

Let me guess, you think the Atari 2600 is the GOAT console of all time?
