I've tried Morrowind and the game looks great and seems like I might really like it, but the catch is it appears that reading every line of text is required and I'm a big fan of and have a habit of skipping over it.

I gloss over most of the dialogue too. I pay attention if the NPCs are particularly interesting or im near the end and crazy shite is occurring .
otherwise I just try to figure out asap what they want and where theyre sending me
the story does add a lot though to the game. there is some fricked up evil shite occurring and the world reflects this if you seek it out.
now in the original morrowwind, yeah reading every line was required. not in this ESO version though IMO. you can play and just power through everything by setting quest markers and following your compass skyrim style

Get the Dark Brotherhood (Assassin's Guild) DLC. Do the first quest and get your Blade of Woe. You can thank me later.
It's a little late, but thanks ;) I get a little disappointed when I realize I can't assassinate someone

I just click through all the screens and rely on the quest tips in the upper right to guide me. About the only time I don't is when dealing with Sheogorath. He's nucking futs.

He's correct. Clearing the Gold Coast with the Dark Brotherhood quest line gains major benefits. Get yourself all up in Sithis Gear and head to Craglorn and you'll be leveled up in no time. The main quests also have large XP gains.

The Siege of Frostreach Fortress with the orc king, elf archer and alchemist was pretty sweet.
Most quests in this game feel meaningful. Which is good

Based on you and jeff I will give this game a real shot this weekend, I hope the crafting isn't confusing as hell like a lot of MMOs.
Thanks you two.

Same here. I actually spent most of a day seeing how much of a town I could kill off and rob.

Crafting is pretty easy, but it's kind of boring.
And make sure to farm the chains(where daedric followers connect to Coldharbour). You can level up, get nice gear, and other stuff that you can use or sell.

the cities in this game are just remarkable
the ones in Vvardenfell weren't anything spectacular IMO but Orsinium (orc stone city built into a mountain) and Elder Root (giant tree) are . I cant help but just look around at the architecture and skylines and horizon. no framerate drops either despite being in a heavy populated market place.
big capital cities teeming with life and character really help make a MMO feel like a living world.

If you go around the back side if Elden Root you can climb and make your way near the top. Crazy spectacular view... Don't jump

Hilarious how they used essentially the same game engine as SW:TOR.
There are relatively minimal differences between ESO and a proper Elder Scrolls game outside of the interaction with the world (literally being able to pick up and toss anything not nailed down). You have the main quest, the fighter's guild, mages guild, thieves guild, and dark brotherhood.
I don't think ESO is a very good MMO though

I have ESO+
I completely under-estimated the value of being able to limitlessly harvest runes, alchemical components, etc. It actually takes a while to fill out my 80 bag slots now

Yeah once I got craft bag, I can't imagine going back.

Yeah, those Dolmen fights are great! The one just north of Vulkhel Guard (southern Auridon) pops ever 10-15 minutes. Good exp and loot.
When there's a lot of people (like at VG) even the lowest level characters can get good exp and loot with a minimal chance of dying (as long as they pay attention to what's going on). I made a few thousand in gold just farming that then running back to sell in town for my first few levels.
