On my ps5 all of these high profile releases start downloading on your dashboard that you see upon login exactly at midnight the day midnight before release with a ticking clock at everything. That way right at midnight on repeat it is installed and ready to go if you want to.

So that’s confirming what I believed. It’ll show on your Sony home screen in the row of games/apps but with have a little lock in the corner and click counting down to midnight rolls over till the 25th (pretty sure that’s the release date)?

While the gameplay looks Aamaxing and a true non hyperbole culmination of all they’ve been building since Dark Souls 1. For once those anthropological series the story is what grips me most

Apparently the boss fight in the network test was so brutal they went back an re-tooled all the bosses bc they made them hard as F. So all those people thinking this was gonna be watered down DS are gravely mistaken.

As I already posted VatVidda the best FromSoft YouTuber got to play as much of the final build as he wanted for 12 hours but stuck it just ti and did the places that the network test had pushing minor boundaries. The network test gave mid-tier to late game gear, offensive and defensive weapons/spells/summons/a way higher up tuned drop of all materials. Vendors sell different shite. This game is going to be brutal if you think you can play it like the Witcher lol

Interesting. Not sure what that has to do with them nerfing the boss difficulty before release though.

It’s fairly clear imo. The boss you’re speaking about that was in the network test had to be scaled up to compensate for all the spells weapons items armor etc put in it that players can’t and won’t have access to in the final game when they face him.

Again I say to you to what I said to the guy before. I by NO MEANS no this for certain, but based on that we do A BUNCH of stuff was placed into the network test that is way later game things. It makes sense they’d scale him back since in final build your character will be much weaker. I did see videos of people fricking owning him though, with a nice cheese tactic of using a summon who attacks from range to maintain his aggro. According to VatVita final build had an FP summon with a melee and range attacked to fight with you but that’s the one I was referencing above when I said you had to just pump your mind dtat up to have enough FP to even use it

I keep wondering if this “easier accessibility” talk is a misconception.
The difficulty is part of the appeal for me. I don’t even consider these games to be “hard” necessarily, but they punish bad play.
If this ends up being baby’s first souls game, I will be disappointed. Fromsoft should not be trying to appeal to game journalists. They are terrible gamers and wouldn’t know good game design if it hit them upside their gender fluid pink haired heads.

I have no doubt this game will be the least punishing of the soul series. I hope I am wrong. but all the signs are there. Starting with open world.

Digital preordered for PC on some lunar New Year sale.

I know the CNT isn't indicative of the final product, and they put stuff in there that won't be available that early in the real game.
That said, I do think it will be more forgiving than DS series.

I think it will be both the least and possible both punishing. Least because, by design, open world games generally can be easier because if you’re struggling you go somewhere else find stronger equipment or spells and grind for souls or whatever they’ll be here. Most punishing in the sense FromSoft isn’t retarded and knows this, they obviously will scale around it.
As to the other guy it’s pre downloading on my ps5 will be ready at midnight on release. Think I’m going with the fairly stereotypical first class for me can’t remember name but the light armor wearing sword wielded who can dabble in miracles.

If you guys browse Reddit, check outt the Elden ring sub, FromSoft put out portraits of the characters and the vagabond's sword is crooked and it's getting roasted

This game is just coming out at the wrong time for me.
As much as I love From games, I won't touch this until I take a break from Destiny. I'm hoping to avoid any spoilers between now and then.
