After beating dancing lion I’ve decided to go back and more explore the Belarut area. Got 120k runes from beating the boss and after some exploration got up to 218k or so. I died and of course did something stupid and died again before recovering them. Welcome back to the bullshite, VStrokes
Come on, man. You’re a Souls vet. Let that shite wash over you like water

So I bit the bullet. Being able to disable blood pushed me over the edge to jump in.
With kids and being in my 30s I just don’t care for that anymore.
With that said. Omfg this game is amazing. I spent my first 2 hours scared as shite sneaking around. Getting courage to battle anything.
Then from hours 3-4 I basically just grinded some horseback shite heads and returned to the same site of grace.
I did that until about level 25. I then decided to branch out and explore. I’m definitely more powerful than most encounters in my current areas.
The underground area with the spirit guardians was freaking amazing. I’m just mind blown at how many rabbit holes I’ve gone down. I’m around level 32 now and this game is making me feel the same way oblivion did back when I was in middle school.
I do wish there were more towns with non hostile NPCs for a little bit of depth but still overall I’m hooked and only 8 hours in.

The Lion fight was really fun. I’ve fought Rellana probably 8 times. She’s fricking tough.

DkS2 DLC is whatever, but it you like Dark Souls, you should get through the DLC of DkS3. Similar to AotA, it feels more like an indispensable part of the lore than it does DLC.
I’m pretty sure I’ve offered this before, but I’m happy to give you tips and advice if you ever want to tackle it again
Nah, I don't need advice. A lot of issues I may have had in years past were skill-based and general lack of understanding in how to optimize builds. I had also only played through each game once and didn't give the DLCs much time. I'm sure if I wanted to go back and do them I wouldn't have the same troubles. I'm about 80% through my 2nd ever playhthrough of 3 but have put it aside for SotE. I'll likely pick it back up later in the summer and finish it and its DLC stuff.

Finally bought Elden Ring to try out. Took way too long to figure out I’m not supposed to be able to kill tree sentinel yet.

I’m about to go frick with this Blackgaol Knight. I had one round with him last night before bed, and he’s no joke.

I fought him with 2 of the scudatree things activated. Took me about 4-5 attempts.
I was watching FightinCowboy's Lets Play Episode 1 and he tried fighting him right at the start and took about 10 attempts or so in hilarious fashion

I feel like this is a rite of passage for all ER players

Nothing more frustrating to me when I get knocked down and it takes a million years for him to get back up and I’m just spamming the roll button to move

I felt like an idiot when I figured out the new Spiritsprings. That’s an hour of my life I won’t get back

Is no joke. He and Dancing Lion were my day yesterday, but got them solo. Death Knight is no slouch either

Can you fill me in on the spirit springs? I got the note about hitting them but I don’t see them or know where they are
Posted on 6/24/24 at 4:14 pm to gregory6592
you have to find these little piles of rocks and knock them over to "turn on" the spirit spring. I've only had to find 2 and they've both been very close. Plenty of messages around that will say "Try East then South" or some shite like that

I've read that using Margit's/Mohg's Shackle next to them also turns them on.

I got her down. She was tough as nails.

What tips do yall have not my dual wield katana blood build? Just got to her.
She’s killing with the blue sword combo that seems impossible to dodge
I did get her to 1/4 health once but only had one health flask left

I was able to roll/dodge most of her magic attacks (to the sides). Jump over her explosions. Run the hell out of the fire attacks.
