just bought the standard game. am I able to strengthen every weapon I want or do I have to pick and choose certain ones to max out.
You can get from 0-24 and 0-9 with bell bearings same for gloveworts. I didn’t find a huge difference in going to last level so I only did that for the few weapons I really liked

I somehow didn’t struggle with Gaius’ charge. I just dodged forward and to the right slightly and it usually worked

Apparently going heavy load and evading left is the play for radahn btw

I ended up using the carion thrusting shield with a bleed AoW. The attack with the thrusting shields also blocks some of attacks.
Wanted to do it with my faith / dex build that I used throughout the base game and DLC, but wanted to move on so respeced to str and knocked it out.
Now half way through Lies of P and really enjoying the focus on perfect parry/guard. A nice change of pace from spam dodge.

Beat the final boss. What a shitshow that was
The NPC fight before was awesome though

Finished the Ranni quest in the base game. That dragon took some PED's after the first time we fought. A bit annoying.

You get blaidds armor? There’s a mask of him close by too

I did but what I was wearing was better.

While I admit that's a big deciding factor for me, it's 50/50.

I did use Blaidds greeves, most of what i have is the Crucible Tree Set while wearing the Lionel helmet.

I need to get back to my dlc run...

So I did some mods. Merchant and leveling. Super easy. Nice knowing I can try different builds on second play through

For those struggling with the final boss of the DLC, a ridiculously easy strat:
1. Fingerprint Shield (or any high guard boost shield)
2. Scholar's Shield spell
3. Any type of spear/lance that you can use to poke while blocking (I used Sword Lance)
The only attacks you need to dodge are the gravity balls the boss throws at you, and all you need to do is run left and jump to avoid them. Otherwise, you can just block all of the boss's attacks and poke, poke, poke.
I recommend the two-headed turtle talisman to raise stamina recovery speed and to back away when your stamina bar is at about half, so that you can recover stamina.
Easy-peasy (but extremely cheesy)

I guess im unclear on how those mods work. That’s a feature of the base game as long as you have larval tears and get to rennala. Which isn’t very hard at all on ng+

Moving into the final boss soon. I got into enir ilim last night and to the wind elemental horned warrior then had to get off. This entire play through has been bloodhound fang since I’ve never used it. That’s a base game op weapon
Picking up the euporia weapon last night really has me wanting to try a build focused on that.

Larval are limited. I can just rebirth unlimited amount of times and pre level myself to 150 and try different stuff. I also can play a boss whenever I want and defeat how many times I want.

Yep, already did that. I used rot thrusting sword with bleed on it. I got too frustrated with him and I don’t have time or patience to learn his moves.
