Well maybe now EA can put more effort in making Madden better or maybe making an NBA game that won't suck.

That's a shame...but you reap what you sow...and the NCAA should have been paying players some of those millions they have been reaping over the years.

i think the game won't change as long as they have to make one every year.

Probably right when you have the combination of always selling well and having an exclusive deal with the NFL. It will likely sell better next year due to the fact that nobody else will likely make another football game.

You realize the NCAA chose to end the relationship with EA right? Not the other way around.

And the athletes are "paid" plenty they have access to all kinds of crap that normal students don't. The best tutors, state of the art health care facilities just for them, etc...

As long as EA had exclusive NCAA rights, it was unprofitable for any other company to make another football game. Now that nobody is using the NCAA licensing, it is a near certainty that new competitors will enter the market. The only question is which one will allow gamers to customize settings to allow them to add whatever trademark infringing additions they want?

Their likenesses were being used to make millions upon millions of dollars for the NCAA, EA, and the 120+ schools who appear in the game. Not a single cent went to the players.

All of this is distracting us from the obvious... the Show is coming to PS4. I should ask for vacation time now.

you realize the NCAA choose to end the relationship with EA because they are about to have their arse handed to them in court over the use of player's images right?

The game ain't what it was even 10 years ago. It's all about big money, most division one teams are making serious bank for their institutions and it goes far beyond TV money.

that scholie with all those fancy tutors etc really doesn't come close to balancing what those kids give these teams.

Dude, something like 20 D1 football programs total make a profit.

Sure it's big business... for a minority of programs.

They're allowed the opportunity to play for those schools. You can alway just go to college, not play football, then tryout for NFL after if it matters to these players so much. I worked with a program the last 3 years and these players get everything they need paid for. This includes school. Why should football players get money and not girls volleyball. At least we get to stare at girls volleyball in those nice tight shorts.

Not EA's problem.

EA licenses plenty of pro properties. Yet THIS one they lost because EA wasn't willing to pay?

Go to sleep, son, you're delerious.
