If you limit your bogeys on the game it’s easy to shoot low. I had a run of 6 birdies at Wetlands. It seems like they have some momentum factor.

Yea, I think there is definitely some type of underlying momentum in the game.

I guess it could also just be if you can repeat the same swing over and over then it would feel like momentum. I feel like some putts seem to drop better.
I’ve also noticed some courses where the greens just bounce everything and others you can stick it.
If you play full everything, having the 30 courses plus a few new ones every few months should be plenty of variety to play.
EA beat down 2k on the graphics and it’s hard to beat having the real courses and tourny names.

This 100%. I'm playing Simulation with everything but zoom turned off, and playing full 4 rounds per tournament and I'm not feeling any sort of fatigue with courses at all. With no aids on, it takes a lot of play to learn each course from my perspective.

Yea play four full rounds and during the week I might get 2 to 4 rounds all week. weekend might play a full 4 rounds

Love the game so far. Getting to know the courses like the poster above said is the best part. My biggest gripe is getting gear whether it be clubs or apparel for my golfer. I’m at the waste management in my career and still have generic stuff. What’s best way to get more cash to upgrade?

I’m sure someone will say I’m wrong, but my method has been:
Play all of the free daily tournaments to get 1000-1500 gold twice daily (I don’t remember or have a chance to play both daily but they are there).
Use the gold won in those to play the daily tournaments that cost 1000 and 2000 gold each to win tickets.
Use the tickets to play the weekly tournaments for higher gold payouts.
Continue to accumulate tickets from step 2 above.
Play the seasonal tournaments for huge gold payouts.
Also, just use gold to get the club specs in the store, not the club skins. Specs drastically increase your club stats while the skins are just cosmetic. Play all of the sponsor challenges to get new clothes/clubs/gear.
I think the only item I’ve purchased in the store are the Carolina blue Jordan shoes

Thanks for the tips. I haven’t done any of that yet.

Overall consensus is this is better than 2K23?
Worth switching ? I'm asking now since everyone has had time to play

Yes worth switching
I haven’t touched 2k since I got EA.
Reasons for the switch:
1. Swing is similar
2. Real courses plus the majors
3. Graphics kill 2k
If you want more customizable characters and just want 1,000s of courses to play then 2k is it.
If you want the top 30 courses it’s EA plus the majors.
I’m a gameplay guy and don’t really care how much I can custom make my character

I never played 2K but echo the positives of EA above. I used to always hate when even the Tiger Woods games would have a bunch of made up tournament names....if I remember correctly. They finally got the masters that one year but also had the UK open and shite. For golf, after gameplay, I want the real courses with surrounding terrain and geography and plants and all that, and I want real tournaments. I know this game has a few fake name tournaments but most seem to be real. I also love the challenge this game provides on Simulation mode.

I think they built two fake courses, but having the players plus all the majors is big. They did a great job charting the 28 real courses and they are going to add some more at some point.
The game play is similar to 2k just better graphics. 2k might penalize you more for bunkers and being in deep rough. However, having the different shot types is cool in EA. I kinda forgot that in my positives.
I’ll probably remain EA going forward assuming they release a new version each year. If they skip years I’ll get 2k but can’t see 2k making the investment needed to get the majors. They likely stick with the TPCs they have, the tourny names they didn’t lose and rely on the custom courses and players.
I would bet EA is going to add a lot of that stuff at some point and likely mirror their online.

There isnt a single real course on EA that someone hasnt created a great version of on 2K. They even have Lidar versions created of the majors. There were some good aspects to the EA masters presentation, but i wont be purchasing until the course creator has been out long enough for people to make the really good stuff.
The 10 hour ea trial was enjoyable for a few hours tho.

Sure someone can create the course, but EA has the full package commentary and everything with it plus in career mode you get the course and the actual name.
2K can create the course but it lacks the signature commentary to it, name of tourny/major and you can’t play it in career mode.
2K and EA are pretty close on swing mechanics. If you like online play more and don’t mind generic names for career and lack of commentary, plus you really like customization of character then 2k wins.
If you want the better visuals, more shot types, and the full package in career mode which is course, commentary and name then EA wins, can’t comment on their online play.

I Cannot believe EA hasn’t added turn order in online play yet. And if they havnt yet I don’t have hope they will. It’s infuriating because the only reason I got the game was to play online with my buddy.

Basically this. EA blows 2k out of the water visually, it isn't even a competition there. 2k looks pretty awful in comparison. The career mode in EA is much better.
Gameplay, both felt very similar, with just small differences in what they focus on as having bigger impacts on success vs failure. EA focuses more on shot types and playing the angles where 2k is big on your elevations and loft adjustments. I felt the ball physics was a little better in EA, but negligible.
2k definitely brings the customization and variety that EA doesn't have. So, if you value visuals & career mode, EA is for you. If you care more about the variety and course options, 2k may have a slight edge.

Also, just use gold to get the club specs in the store

I don't think the putters have specs, not sure. Wedges do though I know for sure. If you go to the store tab, there is a sub tab under it for "specs". Those are the only things that change club stats. Everything else is cosmetic around them. I would recommend saving up and getting a really good ball spec as one of your first ones, as it won't ever change depending on your bag choices later on and will apply to everything you hit.
I've not had any issues whatsoever with putting. It has worked really well for me. The chipping, like in 2k, definitely takes some getting used to with the swing timing. Also, the flops and spinner shots around the green are money. The chipping is all about finding your landing zone.

The swing still feels so laggy compared to 2k.
Clean that up and this is a top-notch game.
