The problem isn't with BF4, Dice, or EA really. It will be a good product. I just think there is no where's left to go with a military FPS. Especially one that takes place in modern times and is based on being somewhat realistic (no aliens, etc) That's why CoD had to jump to the future which will never fly for BF and that's why BF4 looks like BF 3 DLC.

I will be happy with a BF game that doesn't look like I am wearing blue lenses the whole time though.
I read that and I figure, "Fair enough". And like I said earlier, I'll be cool with it until it gets to be too ho hum, same ole thing. Or really out there. Until then, I'm in for BF4.

alright. you got me. yes, DA2 was way way way way way worse. Calling it a "successor" to DA:O is an insult to da:o. Sorry! I should have made a special inclusive list for EA titles that are complete garbage and not just carbon copies of somewhat decent titles.

ME2 is considered an all time classic and me3 is considered an abortion that helped EA win worst company 2 years in a row... so yeah... if sliding over walls and harder recoil on weapons means that much to you, im sure you loved it!

Once again, you miss the entire point of my post. You claimed the listed games were exactly like their predecessors. You listed a few games that did not fit that description. You retort by making it sound like I was defending the games. Please try to stay on one train of thought.

You claimed the above mentioned series as being the same throughout. They are clearly not. End of statement.

i mean, they are close enough.

when was the last time EA released something "new". not a sequel? serious question

All ea does is release sequels to previously successful games. except they suck and are clearly rushed cash grabs.

the post was tongue in cheek. all the titles arent all "EXACTLY" the same.

Yet, it looks like stout corroborated my assumption, that bf4 is really repackaged bf3.

I know, but DA2 isn't even close to the same game DA:O was. That was my point. I mean we can all agree EA is shite, but they are shite for more than just repackaging games. They back devs up against a wall and force them to rush their product. frick the consumer. It's all about the cash.

It cost a lot of money to bring a new IP to market and establish it.

Video games are sort of like Hollywood in that they will stick to what works, which sucks for the consumer but is also the consumers fault for supporting it with our wallets.

EA knows what happens when you release pretty good games that are new IPs. Mirrors edge and Kingdoms of Amalur bombed in sales despite being better than average games.

Fuse (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)
The Sims 3: Island Paradise (Microsoft Windows, OS X)

Madden NFL 25 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)
Battlefield 4 (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)

They do have a whole new IP coming next year with Respawn Entertainment AKA the creators of CoD.

They are apparently making a new engine for DA:3.

quote:

We are working on a new engine which we believe will allow us to deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization. At PAX East, we talked about armor and followers… Yeah, that kind of customization. We've started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this.

Which EA gets no credit for. Why is that?

me3 is considered an abortion

And that simply isn't true. It had an ending that most people hated. Other then that it was a great game and has virtually the same metacritic score as the other two games in the series.

most of us liked EA when me2 dropped. what was that, 2009? That was before EA turned into the shitty company they are now.

Thats the entire point as to why EA keeps getting voted worst company in America. They have a LARGE fanbase cause they used to put out the best gameson the market. Then they learned they could put out complete shite and still get paid

Tell me this, have you ever heard of a Company having to release free DLC to make new endings cause their orgiinal one was fricking awful, and caused a giant uprising? They fricking stole offwork off Google Image Search for gods sake

People hated the ending because ALL OF YOUR DECISIONS MEANT NOTHING. The entire war effort, nothing. Saving the rachni queen... nothing. Decisions made in me1 and me2 meant jack fricking shite
