EA has dropped support for the Nintendo Wii U, a senior executive has confirmed.

That decision isn't permanent though, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau has said.

Should Nintendo sell more Wii U consoles in the next couple of months, EA will begin supporting the console again.

However, currently the numbers just don't add up for EA to continue supporting the format, he told Joystiq.

Ouch...

Oh he's mad Nintendo spoke out and told people to stop making shitty games so they won't trade it in.

Poor Wii, guess they would have to live off another metroid then or something..

Nintendo is the console of my childhood. They had the games that I loved for years and years. So sad to see what they have become.

I would actually love to see Nintendo make a comeback and tell EA no thanks when they want to restart making games for their consoles.

So it's officially now. EA and Nintendo haven't had a good relationship ever.

This. They completely ignored the Wii outside of Boom Blox which was successful.

People don't realize how popular and successful they are because they're a Japanese company in only one industry.

Nintendo has a crazy amount of cash.
