That would probably be worse with micro transactions then it would with EA

Yeah unfortunately that mode has since taken the reins as sport games priority and the franchise/dynasty guys like me get shafted.

I get the concerns that they'd focus on UT but I think everyone is just as excited for dynasties to come back. I'd expect them to put a lot more focus on dynasties than they do franchises for at least the first release.

Just bring back the same gameplay engine from NCAA 14 and make your next gen off of that.

It always seemed like they paid extra attention to detail when it came to the atmosphere and pageantry in the NCAA series as opposed to Madden. I hope the stick to that model. People want to hear the song their band plays on each down, timeouts, etc. The want to see their mascot on the sideline. They care about how their stadium and uniforms are represented. It's just something EA always paid attention to a little more in the college game.

Can't wait to see what they can do with the latest gaming engines.

More like 4 to 5 times that at least.

They should do it like they did their last college basketball game. Bring in CBS and ESPN and have multiple announcers and presentations. I would love to hear the CBS college football theme song on a video game

NCAA 14 sold one million copies, and a lot of that had to do with it being the last game.

This game will break records for the series but it won’t be some overall record breaker, it’s still CFB not the NFL/Madden or an international sport like soccer/FIFA

Madden was the cash cow and NCAA wasn't and because of that the designers and developers got to do more of that stuff without the suits hanging over their shoulder

I have a couple of thoughts after reading this thread:

quote:

As long as they capture the atmosphere of college football

There is no atmosphere anymore. It’s a corporate event. I understand what you mean as far as the feel of the game.... but still..

Also, I’ve made this comment in the past, but I honestly don’t understand the constant bitching about the gameplay in madden. I’m a little more than a casual gamer when it comes to madden, I mostly play franchise mode and online games, but I genuinely enjoy the gameplay experience. Are there some hiccups along the way? Sure. But it’s not nearly as bad as the online community says that it is. Not even close. The ultimate team shite is a legit complaint though, I’ll give y’all that

Another thing that I’m sure I’ll get blasted for, is the complaint that ‘every year it’s just a repeat of the previous year, with new uniforms and a different presentation/menu’.... well isn’t that precisely what CFB is in real life? How many times do y’all expect them to reinvent the wheel? Again, the NCAA games were always good to me, I never saw the need for wholesale changes to the game. In the end, I believe that complaint was the combination of a few different things, one of which being the fact that people might have just been burnt out on the game. We live in a day in age where nothing holds people’s attention for very long.. could that be a reason for the complaining???

Ultimately, I’m very excited for this game to releasd again. However I don’t expect much to change here - I completely expect this site to bitch nonstop about the game once it releases

I get the excitement, but the next good football game EA makes will be its first in a long time.

Almost certainly to be a NCAA 14 clone with MUT-like dookie. Innovation isn’t exactly their cup of tea, especially on a franchise that didn’t sell very well even in its heydays. But, I guess it’s better than nothing for everyone.

Just because it is a corporate event doesn't mean there isn't an atmosphere. Obviously this past season there wasn't but overall the scene of college football is some of the best in sports.

The over reliance on animations is the issue with madden. Add to the fact that they haven't done anything to franchise mode in years until the massive uproar from the community is the real problem. Simple things like a playoff bracket wasn't in the game at launch.

The problem is charging $60 for the same game year over year. If you want to come out with a yearly release there has got to be something new or something has to be drastically improved from the previous iteration to justify the $60 price tag. Most of the time that wasn't the case.

Nothing is keeping them from just creating a college football game and just doing updates to it year over year with uniform updates, stadiums ect... of course this was also before the whole "live service" industry really took off.

I know some people might hate it but I actually think doing a live service college football game would be the best move. Do updates once a year in july/August with updated logos, uniforms, stadiums, playbooks ect ..

You think you do, but you don't. They're no better than EA at this point. Look no further than NBA.

This is why you don’t understand:

There was a guy that literally won a Madden 20 tournament with a P at his QB spot running HB stretch the entire time. Why the P at QB? Apparently they had quicker hand off animations

As someone that used to play Madden very competitively, it’s gotten very stale. The competitive scene of Madden is aids. Enjoy playing semi-casual but the game is shite.

I'd pay the extra to get the fully unlocked game with no micro transactions. I want a 2K game for the smoother graphics, better engine, and better playing experience

If the graphics can scale to 4k, I would be so happy with this. I still play the game and it looks so pixelated on my 4k monitor. Operation sports already has the teams and rosters updated, so all they need to do is update the coaches and add playoffs

I’m going to create Trindon Holiday and he’ll be the best damn DE to ever play the game.
