Disney x Fortnite

The new persistent universe will offer a multitude of opportunities for consumers to play, watch, shop and engage with content, characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar and more. Players, gamers and fans will be able to create their own stories and experiences, express their fandom in a distinctly Disney way, and share content with each other in ways that they love. This will all be powered by Unreal Engine.

Well that will save Epic for awhile, they were starting to circle the drain. Good deal for 10%.

How does someone learn to play Fortnite? Are there tutorials? My nephew plays and I would like to play with him but I’m a bit older and don’t know where to start

By playing Fortnite.

Luckily you will likely get some bot lobbies to warm up/learn the game a bit.

Just fire it up and play for a bit. It's not too hard to get into. I do recommend zero build though.

Play zero build unless you really want to dedicate your time to the building/editing mechanics. If you want to do that, jump into creative and practice.

As a new player, you’ll be put in a lobby full of bots and terrible players, as epic has skill-based matchmaking. Both builds and zero builds.

If that is too easy, try out ranked. Bronze and silver lobbies have bots, maybe even gold, but obviously the higher you go the tougher it will be. When you get to Diamond, you’ll play in lobbies with other diamind, elite, champion and unreal players. Unreal is the highest you can go. I’m there now, and was last season.

Also, PC or console? Console still has insane aim assist. It’s better for zero build. You can get 120 fps on a PS5.

TTsTowel - thanks! I have a Nintendo Switch.

I do not want to build. When I opened the game there were so many different places to choose from I got overwhelmed and just shut it down

I am not the best gamer so the easier the better! I would just love to play with my 10 year old nephew who loves the game.

If you’re nephew is on, just tell him to invite you and he will control the lobby. You’ll only have to ready up to play.

I don’t understand does that mean more Disney IP in Fortnite or are they talking an entirely new Disney game made by Epic? With Disney universe it doesn’t seem to mean Fortnite solely

I don't see how this is a good deal for Disney. Seems like more Bob Iger idiocy. They should have invested $1.5B in Walt Disney World instead.
