I feel so weak dmg wise as a lvl 31 Druid during this leveling process. Hearing it starts to get crazy at the end game though
My only complaint right now is the dynamic scaling. It kinda sucks

so, at first i was trending that way and then i realized this was a very D2 feeling. meaning, D3 it was incredibly easy if you knew what you were doing to steamroll everything through the story and into torment VI.
this new system takes me back to D2's leveling process where i either felt like i was just keeping up my gear vs enemies or falling behind...and i love it. the difference now is instead of doing 10k trist runs or 5k baal runs, you're doing it through dungeons, mobs, and story mode.

Never played a Diablo game. Thought many times of playing 3 but never took the plunge. Figured id give 4 a try. Is it worth getting? Hadnt really looked much into reviews or gameplay
im gonna say it. i think this is the best diablo offering.
its a over all very solid package. its not too intense as some other ARPGs. its very playable for the average joe but still has enough meet to keep most veterans engaged.
if you were always curious this would be the one to go into.

Can someone explain multiplayer to me? I remember that D2 used to have a lobby that you can go to for pug groups. Is that not a thing anymore? Is it basically just co op with friends now?

Mind letting in one more?
Request will be from my main toon Malek. Level 48 Barb and I'm still sitting in Act 3 of the MSQ.
ETA: Well that was quick.

i assume you mean just how it works in D4.
i like to describe it as MMO lite. you enter a "shared" world with other players. there is chat systems (although i dont even know if they are for local areas or more worldwide). You will share your world with any number of random peeps. You can come across them in the open world and help fight with each other or team up if you choose.
Dungeons and story stuff will be limited to your character unless you are playing with a specific set up group of people.
i like the set up. kinda small interactions with people. I was doing a helltide region last night and some sorc decided he wanted to follow me around. We just kinda rolled around together and wrecked shite for about 10 minutes without typing a word to each other.

WT2 is starting to kick my arse, and I'm not even out of Act 1.
I don't have good burst damage, and I've struggled with the last three or so boss fights.

Humbly sent request to join the clan

Unless you just want the challenge, I’d stick with WT1 for the campaign.

I’m a Diablo noob (played some D3 casually). Application submitted.

just an FYI alt leveling in adventure mode is pretty painful without a power level. highly suggest just doing story progression again.
rerolled off a 61 necro to the real pet class druid and the "best" way to level in adventure is to run the same dungeon over and over again clearing elites while skipping the boss. log out and in to reset the dungeon over and over. everything else feels bad for xp. not a very long grind but damn its not fun.

Got smoked a half dozen times to the “Den Mother” at level 11. Level 14 now and plotting revenge!

The level scaling is horrible. Reminds me of Oblivion
I don't think Blizzard can keep up with the shear a mount of builds, items, etc, and it feels like unless you build your character or play a very specific way, you get fricked in the arse.
POE2 will kill this game.

Not really. The PoE and Diablo games target very different audiences.

The more casual audience will play this game for a few weeks then move on.
What's left to sustain the game will be exactly the sort of audience POE attracts. The changes between this game and Diablo 3 were done for the sole purpose of retaining a more hardcore playerbase.

It's hard for me to believe more casual players will gravitate to PoE. The passive tree alone has people uninstalling after getting their first passive point. Add in another tree for endgame and the crafting systems...you need 1,500 hours in PoE before you start to understand it's systems.
No way more casual arpg players are jumping on that train.
Eta: and this is coming from someone that loves PoE

i really like PoE but you're right, i'm close to 1k in poe in hours played and i still feel like i have no idea what to do without following a build.
blizzard may of hit on something here with a skill tree but not an overwhelming amount of skills like poe can feel like

This. I've tried to pick up PoE a few times now, and the need to be an excel spreadsheet master is a huge turnoff. I played D3 quite a bit, and am enjoying the hell out of D4. Just enough grind and min-maxing to keep me involved, but not to the level of PoE. Don't get me wrong, PoE seems like an amazing game that was tailor-made for the min-max spreadsheet demo. It's awesome they have that option. And it's awesome I have my "copy a few youtuber builds to make me good enough to hit the endgame" option for Diablo.
ETA: Anyone who says "PoE will kill Diablo!" is PoE's target audience, not Diablo's. I'm their target audience. And I'm in the overwhelming majority.
